Liz strikes me as a beachy type player anyway. A little like Whalen, who also went beach, and did pretty well.

She's seeking a beach program. She's had knee problems throughout her career and wants to finish out her time on the sand. I've been told she is pursuing a program with both Hey, I’m glad she thinks her knees can take it, good for her! I agree, she’d make a fabulous starter/L2 for an indoor program. She’s a wonderful teammate, she works her tail off, and she always keeps everyone laughing.

Hoping for a bingo soon… Robey seems like a potential transfer target.
I’m not about to sift through the Tea 2023 thread. Any other MB’s we could be talking to?

Not sure if this was ever mentioned in the other thread or during any senior night posts/speeches but Liz Gregorski is in the portal for her COVID year. I hope to see her become a full time starter wherever she goes! She's seeking a beach program. She's had knee problems throughout her career and wants to finish out her time on the sand. Yeah with her history, she should not play anymore indoor if she wants to hit.

it seems like a lot of wisconsin fans are looking for another middle, could I ask why? wouldn't
Orzol/Franklin Crawford/Smrek Ashburn/Robinson & Hammill/Demps Guctekin
be a national title contending lineup? then you have McCaa for a backup for any middle and maybe right side, and then Wroble for the backup for either pin (if she's not starting at one of them!)

I’m wondering if Smrek can run as a middle. I brought it up earlier this year as an option because she hits quicks out of the middle so well. What I don’t know is how well she can transition across the net for blocking. She’s got a spot down on the right obviously locked down with her blocking and hitting ability, but we’ll see. I could see Robinson as more likely IMO if we don’t bring in a transfer just with her ability to transition so well.

Carter Booth has it down for the most part already as a freshman. you really don't even have to jump which allows you to make that third step as big as possible to the pins because as long as you have your hands full above the net and angled correctly, you're still going to get at least a good touch if not a stuff. Booth is often "late" to the eye but gets stuffs with how deceptive it actually is to see as a hitter. one minute she's not even there and you can bounce cross and the next now you're getting roofed. speaking of Robinson's, Jess would be a great get for y'all, if possible

The only solid MB you can write in the lineup is CC. Robinson might get the nod to move back over to what is her natural position. McCaa has had some injury issues, so we could use another MB for depth for 2023 (have a 2024 MB coming in). Smrek might be too slow to effectively play the middle, but she's a load to handle on the RS. She'll likely play there with Demps/Wrobel fighting for the other OPP spot. Probably would be good to keep MJ & Smrek together to get more consistent with their sets. There was a bit of switching the OPPs in the non-conference matches that might not have helped get everyone on the same page until mid-B1G-season.

I really doubt a quality middle like Robie moves to be depth, but I don't know. If people are really daydreaming, what about Nunneviller at OH and Orzol to libero? That would make a lot of people happy although probably not Orzol or GG. I know it's not going to happen, she will go pro. But Nunneviller was definitely considering Wisconsin for a while before she went to Oregon - probably because she got the promise to play OH after her first year. It's crazy how we all suddenly sound like pro-sports fans. I don't really like it. I prefer the program try to develop players. It's a university after all.

Nuneviller has to be out of eligibility: 2018 - Freshman 2019 - Sophomore 2020 (Covid) - Junior 2021 - Jr/Sr 2022 - 5th No?

Haha. I said I was daydreaming, people!!
But that is the kind of person you should be looking for if you are interested in still running a 6-2.
The alternative is a big time setter that can run a 5-1. but then you are not using all your hitting options and you still have passing woes.
Honestly, I think Sheff will stick with what he has at setter and with Orzol and try to have Wrobel or Demps compete with her.
He might try to get more competition for GG, like he tried with Shanel. Maybe some depth at middle.
