This is why I could never be a coach. I know it makes sense to bring in the absolute best players you can but I am sad to think of Julia taking on a role like Jade had last year. I hope they are working with Ella to transition to opposite because she will never see the court with TTA, Sarah and Julia in front of her. Well, TTA has a cannon of an arm - I look forward to seeing her bounce kills into the 10th row of bleachers in the Field House.

Also, lots of injuries the last few years (Haggerty, Hart, CC, Civita (the last two pretty fortunate they came back), different people with stress fractures. From Sheff's point of view this is a dream. One or even two people get hurt they can keep going quite well.

Congrats on the TTA signing, Badger fans : )
Question: Has Wisconsin ever set Orzoł out of the back row? Like everyone else, I'm trying to picture the 2023 Badger lineup and am wondering if Julia would play DS with her good passing and floor defense- she might also be a back row attack option.

Occasionally last season, but not nearly as often as they did with Franklin.

Injuries and illness have been a serious issue at critical junctures, as indicated by Punzel's book. But TTA has to start. She is a talent like we have never had at outside, and I include Franklin in that, so that is truly saying something.

Orzol is pretty good in the back row for a left, but there are others on the roster - as well as an incoming freshman - who would likely be better choices defensively than Orzol as a pure DS. And with UW running a 6-2 offense, using a pure DS and the substitutions it uses might be a problem. It's a question we've been pondering.

Maybe a certain poster gets his wish finally and we see Orzol at libero some ? To give GG a spell ? I bet she'd also have a nice second ball. Actually I'm just envisioning chaos where all sorts of things are tried, maybe against weaker opponents, to see what sticks and to keep people involved. But that's likely just me trying to make sense of this.

I've been able to foresee the shape of the team before, but now... I'm just not sure. The balance between attacking and passing, in combination with the issue of 5-1 vs 6-2, is too much for me to figure out from this remote vantage point. They will find a way. Anyway, welcome Temi to the badger family! Really looking forward to seeing you in a badger uniform!! Still pinching myself here.

I’m interested in seeing what teams we play next year for non-conference. Do we have any allegations to have certain teams to play? Like schedule contracts? Or is it pretty free-range in who we get to schedule?

I read somewhere a while back that Wisconsin is returning the Florida match to Gainesville along with going to Marquette to play them in Fiserv the Big10/Big12 challenge is during opening weekend with Minnesota is hosting (and playing) baylor and tcu

I still think Orzol has a major chance to start, for a few reasons: 1. Passing. 2. Passing. 3. Passing. 4. Floor Defense. 5. She is pretty good against single blocks and we have enough depth that we can afford to play a glue OH who doesn't need to beat double blocks consistently.
Either TTA or Franklin will get a look at Opposite - they are too good to just let one sit on the bench behind the other, and both already can hit from the right - they both sometimes do already in Rotation 1 (when the opposite is left front). Plus, it gives us more options in case of injury. Last season was actually fairly light injury-wise for UW, despite the temporary setbacks for CC and GG.
That being said, there is a world where TTA and Franklin are the OH's and you just rely on always having maximum power and just make passing work the best you can. It worked for Texas last year with Skinner and Eggleston, after all.

They've all already done two years worth. (If it is four years, this year would likely be in Minnesota.)
