Keep in mind, folks, you're in Omaha for the volleyball, not the food, not the locals (except for maybe Warren Buffet), not the scenery and not the weather. Runza if your colon is up for it. I think I ate there. Isn't that the place that has stomach pumps table-side?

Obviously first time traveling there to the Final Four, thought I would see if any regulars have personal recommendations on things to, places to see or eat, hotels you liked, etc. Seems like I can just fly into Eppley Airfield and be minutes from the city/arena. There is a very good LED Christmas light show every Friday and Saturday evening at the top of the hour from 6 PM - 10 PM at Omaha's Central Park, also known as the Gene Leahy Mall. This large park is in the center of downtown and only a few blocks from the CHI Arena. www.visitomaha.com/event/holiday-lights-festival%3a-gene-leahy-mall-lighting-displays/37937/Other good places to see Christmas lights are in the Old Market and at Midtown Crossing: www.visitomaha.com/blog/post/holiday-light-displays-in-omaha/Second this

Come to open practice and give me a high-five. Once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Had the best steak of my life there at the USVBA Nationals. But I was pregnant with my 2nd child, and he’s 33 now, so no idea the restaurant. But I’d imagine great steak is to be found there. I mean, Omaha Steaks, right?

The Omaha locals can give a better local report, but the weather update i just watched on MSNBC made it sound like a pretty major winter storm coming to the upper plains, maybe Wednesday. Driving to and around Omaha may get difficult.
(Or it was an "OMG, be very afraid" report that they love to give in the winter. But FYI, in case.)

There's a small chance of snow on Thursday

Cheaper to stay in Council Bluffs. By a lot. Council-tucky. Get it right :) and you all should stay away from that hell hole :) For sleeping it was ok. Not for much else, including food, unless the HyVee counts.

We'll be there, with Little Rainbow in tow. Anybody have recommendations for things to do with little kids? We did the zoo and the Strategic Air Command & Aerospace Museum when we were out there in April 2021. Nerd alert:. Lewis and Clark headquarters/national trail. If you feeling hearty also walk over the bridge. There are skulls and fur and I think you can touch them.

Isn't there a mattress factory that's a good restaurant or something?

I mean, Omaha Steaks, right? Omaha Steaks are garbage. The most overrated meat ever. The best meat in Nebraska comes from Morgan Ranch in Sandhills (along with the best golf!) and Certified Piedmontese.

Random Trivia: Omaha Steaks do not come from Omaha.
It’s just branding. (But there are good steaks here)
We actually have a surprisingly (to west coasters) diverse food scene. Not going to pretend we’re Chicago or NYC, but if you want things like Sushi, Thai, Indian, African, there are surprisingly good options.

Yo%*$#omo in Benson is one of the best "omakase" establishments in the entire country. It is PHENOMENAL EDIT: LOL to the censoring of "Y-O-S-H-I-T-O-M-O"

Isn't there a mattress factory that's a good restaurant or something? It’s solid food and a block from the arena. “old mattress factory” is the name. Very original
