As long as I can get downtown from the airport this afternoon, I’m good!

Ugh I’m in Des Moines, wondering if I should leave now or wait a bit for plows etc The snow seems to be dying down, and the plows and salt trucks have gone through. Probably safe to head out now.

We made it to Omaha and had breakfast at Le Peep. Now letting Little Rainbow burn off some energy at the Children’s Museum until our hotel room is ready.

Heading down there from Lincoln this afternoon, so not as stressful of a trip as others here. But then this is the first image I saw on my Twitter feed this morning. A$$

I was in Omaha for a cousins' wedding a while ago. I'd never been there. We stayed at some big hotel downtown (don't remember the name). Had to walk several blocks to get to an area with a few restaurants. They were fine but nothing worth noting. The city also seemed really dead on the weekends. Not intending to dis Omaha but it was almost eerie... After the wedding reception on Saturday night, a bunch of us headed to the casinos across the river in Iowa. (They were about two miles away and I still don't understand why there were casinos in Iowa.) I'd love to give a review of the casinos but, well, I don't remember that much... Casinos are in Iowa because they're not allowed in Nebraska (yet). The only casinos in Nebraska are tribal owned and on tribal land. Casinos are allowed in Nebraska although there aren’t many up and running yet since there being legal is still pretty new.

If you see a casino, you’re still in Council Bluffs.
