In addition to having a team with the talent to win it all, Louisville and DBK will also have a HUGE home-court advantage as it relates to fan support. Most Husker fans will root for anyone playing Texas in anything. That they are playing a team with a small-town Nebraska girl who grew up 80 miles from Omaha, played setter for three years before unselfishly moving to libero her senior year when NE won a NC, later winning as a Husker assistant coach, is many fans CLEAR choice to replace Coach Cook and who exudes all that is good about a home-state girl... as their coach will most assuredly not help Texas as far as crowd support goes. Personally, I had a late change in plans and was going to sell my ticket. I may have just talked myself into sticking with the original plan and going just to watch Texas lose. But then there is the very distinct possibility that the LHS will win. Just the thought of watching that live kinda makes me wanna . Naw... selling the ticket. GO CARDS

I don’t think I’ve ever been this uninterested in a Final match.

Texas better get it done in 4, with the way Louisville has played 5th sets in their last two matches. I think Louisville will put up a fight, especially in the serve/pass game, but Texas ultimately wins.

I just can't foresee a picture where Texas loses, but if Louisville fights like I know they can, it can really go either way. Their play these last two matches won't cut it against the horns. I voted Horns in 4. Give Logan her things.

Should be a great matchup. Lots of similarities on both squads:
Setting: Both have a 1st year starter who is a transfer. SKT/Lazaro have good height so they can put up a block, and both are quite strong with set location. I think it's a pretty even matchup.
Outsides: Eggleston/Chaussee is a wash/toss up. 2 best outside hitters in the country this year and maybe the top 2 candidates for POY. Skinner/Debeer is slight edge Texas, though Debeer has been great the last couple of matches as she's getting front row swings.
Rightside: Phillips/Jones. Both players will be x-factors for their teams. Phillips is quite solid and you usually know what you're getting from her each night and hits a great percentage. Jones is a little streakier but can be a solid out of system attacker and is a great blocker/server. I'd say draw, though maybe slight edge to Texas.
Libero: Fleck/Scott. 2 of the best in the country, draw.
Middles: O'Neal/Caffey/Bergmark vs. Tillman/Kong. Neither team relies heavily on middle attack for offense, though Texas's middle attacker is usually smoother. On the flip side, Louisville's middles are better blockers. Another draw.
DS: Hendricks vs Halter/Akana. Edge Texas.
Overall I'd give Texas the edge on paper but this feels like a toss up to me. Just depends on who shows up and brings their best stuff on Saturday.

Interesting and good analysis. Who do people think wins the service battle? That could also be key in this game. Both teams seem like strong serving teams - but I have only watched highlights of their matches in the tournament, so not in a position to try to guess who has the edge.

y'all need to get out of la-la land if you're delusional enough to believe we will have a sweep on Saturday night.... 4 out of the last 10 finals have been sweeps. 3 of those 4 sweeps came when a team who has won a national championship before played a team who has not. Texas has played in 4 of the last 10 finals and only won 1. That outweighs your statistic here!

I thought SD played a solid match. Blossom was especially on point. Still, Texas outpointed them with the sum of their talent, and in spite of their ho-hum play (passing and setting) at times during the match.
Horns take it in four.
