I’m slow on the uptake. Has the SEC had its volleyball media day yet? I have read all about the BIG days but haven’t seen reports from other conferences. Info? You have to follow them on their socials or the SEC accounts to see content.

3 SEC teams in the Preseason Poll. Kentucky and Florida #10 and #11. Arkansas at #25. But Tennessee, Auburn, Georgia, LSU make up 4 of the next 9 highest vote getters. Bets on how many SEC teams could end up in the final 25?? My guess is 4. I think Tennessee gets in there with a win over Marq and/or San Diego and a strong conference finish and then one of ARK, LSU, UGA.

is arkansas returning most of their players this season? Both lefts Jill Gillen, Taylor Head, the best right Maggie Cartwright, their Libero Courtney Jackson and setter Hannah Hogue. That's a pretty important core, most notably the three passers who made up the best passing backcourt in the conference last year. Excellent summary of who stuck around. The losses are both MBs (Tatum Shipes and Abigail Archibong), the most experienced RS, Hailey Dirrigl, and the other 6-2 setter, Gracie Ryan. The Hogs have used the transfer portal to repopulate some depth at MB, with MS State's Sania Petties and Georgia State's Laura Ehieze arriving this offseason. Petties and rising Jr Zoi Evans are probable starters, imo. At setter the Hogs brought in Fr Logan Jones. It's not clear at this point whether they will stick with a 6-2 and use Jones and Hogue, or whether they'll run Hogue all the way around in a 5-1. If Jones is even remotely ready, I suspect they'll go with the 6-2, as neither Hogue (5'8") nor Jones (5'9") is likely to be enough of a blocker. In a 6-2, the Hogs have multiple options for the other RS opposite Cartwright. Fr Aniya Madkin looked strong there in the spring (she enrolled early), and Soph Avery Calame and Fr Liv Ruy are also possibilities. If they go with a 5-1 and want to DS Cartwright in the back row (they didn't use DS's much last year in the 6-2, as both OHs are excellent back row players), they have Soph Kylie Weeks and Fr Ava Roth to complement Sr Hailey Schneider. Cartwright isn't a bad back row player, though.

Can we consolidate some Exhibition conversations here? TAMU TAMU vs Baylor BOX
Tamu takes a set from Baylor, but Meuth hit's .087 on almost 50 swings. She's gonna have a big workload ahead of her. Read that Kentucky scorched WKU offensively, .300 plus. Tennessee reports are that Finghall looked great, might be some passing concerns with their lefts. Which makes sense since neither of them were strong passers before they got there. Arkansas had Missouri St. today. Don't know what went down there. LSU news is that Demps is playing 6ro right. They didn't use a lot of DS and their lefts struggled across the back. And with Larkin gone, that's gonna be a big deal. Seems like they're likely in a 5-1 with Waak. Anyone have info on Ole Miss/Ark. St or beyond?

Looks like Missouri is running a 5-1 with the freshmen Sierra Dudley as the setter. I assume that means Iliff is moved to the OH position with Johnson on the right? Don’t know much about Dilara but hitting .480 from the left pin is never an easy task. Lots to look forward to and hoping this is the beginning of Mizzou’s climb back to the top of the SEC. Seems like Sullivan got almost everyone playing time so not frustrated with the loss, especially to a bubble team in Iowa State.

This is fantastic. Thanks! Auburn numbers are bad. None of those 4 big names hit above .200. Miss St. Solid performance from some new to the lineup pin hitters.

Besides being left handed, I don't think she has primary passing level skill.

It has to be either Iliff or Kimani Johnson based off the stat sheet from the looks of it. To be fair, I don’t know who has passing capabilities besides (maybe) Dilara and the DSs.

Was just about to mention the Auburn match. Not great numbers at all. Wonder what is up with Anderson/Scheer, and Bell leading the team with 24 attempts is interesting.

That Georgia Clemson game was gooooood. really great volleyball on both sides of the net. Clemson is young and Georgia just seems like a settled calm team.

Arkansas had Missouri St. today. Don't know what went down there. They played 3 sets at Alma HS in NW Arkansas (right above Ft Smith). Arkansas won the first two sets handily, and then played a very green lineup in S3, which the Bears won. Was not there, but a) they had an amazing crowd, which is very cool, and b) am told Arkansas looked very solid in S1 and S2.
