The day wasn't a total waste for the SEC.
Alabama did sweep UAB. 😐

LSU goes down 3-1 at home to SELA. dman - what gives? This may be worst loss in recent history…and that’s saying something! Think they’ve slipped defensively and someone other than the freshman needs to step up on the outside! Coach needs to make some adjustments…she’s not in Texas anymore Toto!!

LSU will struggle this season. Very few blocks, worse than last year, which was also bad. The team seems to lack leadership when on the floor. The DS who graduated last year was more vocal at providing direction on the defense. Last year, Vondran (one of the setters who also graduated) also provided leadership. SELA's back row defense was also better. While some of the SELA players were very athletic, LSU got beaten by a team that wasn't as physically daunting but took full advantage of weaknesses. SELA's hitters did an excellent job of hitting into a split block, hitting shots above the six-foot line, and placing balls where the defensive player was weak. They played smart.

LSU goes down 3-1 at home to SELA. dman - what gives? LSU and Kentucky disappointing me so bad omg 😭 Kentucky is mostly likely looking at another butt-kicking this weekend. Still, I respect the way they schedule. Kim Mulkey-esque scheduling, I will never respect, because it harms the conference as a whole. They don't play Florida until October, so the Cats have some time to improve, and no doubt these tough road games are preparing them for the conference season.

Not sure how it will pan out during conference… but the youth in this team got exposed to a lot of good volleyball and for the most part competed.

Auburn rallied from 2-1 down and a signficant set 4 deficit to beat South Alabama on the road last night.
In afternoon action, Arkansas blitzes Buffalo at the St. John's tournament, -14, -19, -15, behind a 16-0-22 (.727) attack performance from Cartwright. (Petties was 9-0-14 for .643, also.)

Tulsa tops Ole Miss, 3-2.
Not exactly SEC related, but new Tulsa HC Lauren Ramatowski (former Arkansas AC) is off to a really nice start. She has wins over Ole Miss, Michigan State, and a decent Central Arkansas team. Impressed.

Don’t know what to make of Georgia yet but a top 10 win sure goes a long way towards securing a bid at the end of the season.
