I have never been a huge Rosen fan, but he is a good man and ran a clean program with limited resources. This is an undeserved unseemly ending… I hope whoever they hire is a complete bust … glad to see flight to the portal…. "Flight to the portal" as far as we know only one player has flown so far... and she happens to be the one dating the Rosen's son.

There is one scholarship available. Mruzick’s since she’s leaving. That’s all. The incoming coach will have to make do with one from the portal a decide what’s most important…setting,OH, RS. With classes starting in 8 days an no coach announced, it looks like whoever this scholarship is used on won't be in Ann Arbor for the spring unfortunately.

It's worth noting that players have until the January 11th to enter the portal. If they wait until the 4th, or later, they still are guaranteed to get this spring at Michigan paid for. I'm not suggesting everybody (or anybody) will leave, but they're going to have only a week or two to decide.

There has been no public announcement regarding Mruzik's landing spot; I'm going to leave her in the OP until that happens. If Robinson or Pertofsky decide to stay (unlikely), I'll add them in as well.

I was moreso saying that there could be a few more after the new coach is announced/the semester started, not really anything about Pertosky/Robinson/Mruzik. Grad transfer, grad transfer, potential future daughter-in-law of former coach. None of those were totally avoidable to me.

Michigan's last match, I think, was on November 25. The AD decided to change coaches. The announcement of removing the Rosens was made almost a month later. Am I unfair thinking it appears this late start unfairly put Michigan way behind in the search for a new head coach, assistant coaches and getting a jump on keeping recruits and getting transfers?

Yes, but my guess is, there was an attempt at negotiations that did not work out and delayed things tremendously.

It's just irritating to see the program handicapped by this delay IMO.

It's just irritating to see the program handicapped by this delay IMO. A University would never touch a heath conversation with a 10 foot pole. Too much liability there, but I get where you are going with this. Unfortunate for the short term, but hopefully positive long term.

Michigan is definitely at a disadvantage with the late departure of the coaches. First, in finding new coaches and getting athletes out of the portal. An in-depth investigation was happening with many student athletes meeting with the admin. In my opinion, no one else is going to enter the portal and will welcome an incoming coach and staff with open arms. I obviously could be wrong. The student athletes love it there (except for the vb) and are excited for a fresh start.

Hope the Wolverines land a good coach soon! I'm chiming in to get this thread on my participated list to streamline my lurking so I can stay up to date on the coach search.

Would Brian Wright or Dan Meske be outrageous for this job? Even Jalen Reyes comes to mind but not sure how deep that OSU v Michigan hate runs. Or how conference conflicts matter.

She was just seven years removed from the program when she came to Ann Arbor to coach with Mark. Legend.
