$3.5 billion The brilliance of some. We have literally opened up our borders to everyone in the world and now they’re begging for $3.5 billion because this is such a crisis. Of their own making. Now taxpayers get to pay for the crisis they’ve made. You liberals have so much common sense. It amazes me.

Anyone watch Fox last night and know what this is about? If you don’t know what it’s about you’re not very informed.

Of course Holiday has no clue that the borders are *not* open. In fact, we have had our borders specially closed down since 2020 because of COVID-19 (Title 42). A large part of the current problem stems from the borders *not* being open for so long, which has led to large groups of refugees and migrants gathering at the borders.
It's the exact opposite of the problem Holiday thinks it is.
Biden is asking for Congress to give an extra $3.5 billion in funding to the immigration and border security in order to handle the backlog of work that has built up because our borders have been closed for the last three years.

Ask any border town including cities ran by Democrats if they think the border is open or not Mike? For a president who’s actually never visited the border, I would be embarrassed to defend that position but you aren’t.

Anyone watch Fox last night and know what this is about? I'll try and parse this - I'm not fluent, but I do have a working knowledge of Holiday-speak: My best guess about what he's yelling about - In anticipation of an expected surge at the border due to Title 42 ending via a court order, the White House wants $3.5 billion earmarked for border security and processing, including hiring around 300 new border patrol agents, improvements in processing and giving asylum seekers faster hearings, and so on. Which would seem to be good things to those concerned with the Southern border, but what do I know? Edit: The Supreme Court just blocked the order ending Title 42, so everything is one hold for now?

Which is on both an ocean (which is a border) and very close to a land border with Canada? We have many, many immigrants here in the Seattle area, because people like to come here. Unlike Western Nebraska.

Why did the SC step in to extend Title 42? Why are you complaining if Biden wants to invest more in border security? Do you ever just take a moment out of your day and think anything through. Your ignorance knows no bounds.

Now taxpayers get to pay for the crisis they’ve made. You liberals have so much common sense. It amazes me. This is such an odd thing for you to bitch and moan about. This isn't new. It is part of the huge bipartisan infrastructure bill that includes a provision to improve 30 land border crossings on both borders. I see articles giving a summary of this last February. Did Fox just find out about it? Bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act SummaryThe bill contains $3.85B to modernize and improve Land Ports of Entry at our nation’s Northern and Southwest Border. The funds are split between General Services Administration (GSA) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP). The funds will allow GSA and CBP to execute construction and modernization at all ports on CBP’s Five-Year Plan as well as those identified as a priority for upgrades. Port modernization improves border security while also improving the efficient flow of travel and trade across our land border. Funds are also included for port of entry paving projects, the acquisition of leased ports and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration facility needs.
