That makes no sense. Why do parents have to be informed in advance if it's not about pre-approval? Do they have to be informed in advance when the teacher is going to start teaching the kids about fractions? This is total spin. "We just wanted to be told in advance" is bullsh*t. It's a CYA move because they realize they look like idiots after forcing this principal out of her job. Try to wrap your head around this nonsense: "Look, we’re not a public school. We’re a public charter. ... Here we teach the Hillsdale Curriculum, focusing on civic and moral values. We teach a traditional, Western civilization, liberal classical education" |

At least in my state, if you are laid-off you are eligible for unemployment, but if you quit or are fired with cause then you are not. He claimed they offered her the option of resigning or being laid off without cause because she was an at-will employee. If that was true, what possible reason would she have not to force them to lay her off? That would allow for unemployment (maybe) and put her in a better legal position if she chose to do anything in the future. The only reason for her to resign, would be a sizeable severance along with an NDA so that she can't talk about it. |
