For their upcoming season? Like this is going to go away after Media Days? You’re just trolling now. And you are being intentionally dense. It's a strategy choice. None of us know precisely whose strategy it is.

Plausible deniability. Pedro can plausibly deny knowledge -- pretty hard to do that when you're named in the lawsuit, and ergo involved implicitly.

You can’t put Shane up there, Northwestern did the correct thing from their standpoint.
As someone who works in the media, any journalist worth their weight is asking Shane the same question about hazing multiple times hoping they can get them to crack.
First sensible PR move Northwestern has made since this whole thing started.

He is going to be asked those questions. Wouldn’t it be best to have him go out there with a statement, something along the lines…. I know many of you want to ask about hazing allegations. In 2021, we had a player receive a consequence for actions that we believed were having a negative impact on the team. I approved of the consequence. I made a poor decision and I received my own consequences for that. Our team also suffered for the decisions that I made. We have moved on and I continue to learn how to be a better coach every day. I regret the decision I made then and how it impacted that player and our team and have committed to only make decisions since then and going forward that empower and improve our team. I can’t and won’t get into specifics about the situation. I hope to move forward and speak about our team for 2023. Not exactly, but something like that?

This seems like a statement that would be made after a settlement is reached, assuming they don't want this thing to go to court. I hope they call her bluff and her lawyers realize she has a giant nothing burger, her accusations are in no way shape or form the same as what is going on with Football and Baseball there.

And employees of Northwestern athletics still talk about Fitzgerald like he’s a hero. I think his bio is still up on the football page. The associate head coach is specifically named in lawsuits and is still employed. And the baseball coach was “relieved of his duties”. Not fired. Still being paid. There are so many problems with this athletic program.

Against Hawaii, the Cats looked really great in game 1, but by the end it was a classic Shane Davis coached team that can’t get it done. He also might be the most unegaged coached in the game.
Sangiocomo was impressive and absolutely dominant at times, but I think her arm just got tired. Not sure she can carry the whole team all season, and teams will camp on her.,Rousseau looked great g1 — seemed much quicker and her pace was fast. Then she lost steam and was predictable and made too many offers since errors (and needs to establish her self more). They got Husemann going towards the end offensively, then she became ineffective in g5. Her block was not available, which was a disappointment. Chinn was rock solid, but thinking she needs to switch to the L1 since Randorf was atrocious and got pulled. Might be better to have her return to the right where she did very well last year. Stinson made some crazy plays, and I think the back court trip will continue to be very steady. Dodson was really impressive — she’s quicker and her slide was unstoppable most of the night. Reid’s energy was infectious. She also plays fearlessly, and is fun to watch.

I wonder how much the time change affected them.

Unbelievable how Shane Davis still has a job - not sure what he does as a head coach, but his teams can't win when it matters. Sangiocomo and Stinson were our best players all night, both looked incredibly impressive. Rousseau honestly has not looked the same after her injury last year, and maybe it's time to switch to Noordermeer. I wasn't as high on Chinn, thought she looked quite mediocre. As a Dodson critic in the past, she played a great game last night. Loved Reid's energy all night, she'll be a good depth piece for NU. I hope this isn't the Randorf we'll see moving forward. I always suspected her game left not too much room for growth potential, and hope she proves me wrong. Lauren Carter looked atrocious throughout the match. Pleasantly surprised to see Drew Wright in the starting lineup. Very little noise regarding her recruitment (and likely a lightly-recruited player), but I thought she looked solid across all sets. This might have been a gem of a find by Northwestern's recruiting standards. Not too optimistic for this season as a whole, probably 0-3 in the Hawaii Tournament, 7-13 Big Ten, etc.

Is Julia injured? Looks like her L knee is wrapped up. Will she redshirt?

Agree Shane Davis cannot get his teams to win the matches they should. Losing to Milwaukee the way they did was unacceptable. Sangiacomo not on the court hurts (not sure the extend of her injury?), but they still have the talent to win a match like this. On their talent: Randorf: She’s much more consistent at opposite, but is still too high error. Call it the sophomore slump. Her jump serve is strong, and I’d like to see her swing from the back row when she’s in after serving. Dodson: Most improved. She’s blocking better, and he slide is money. Rousseau: Ugh. She looks about the same as her freshman year. Still can’t block a ball to save her life, and as a 6’3 lefty has not yet realized she can be way more anggressive and quick on the attack. I believe Noordemeer is redshirting this year, but I think she runs a MUCH better offense. Chinn: Generally favorable, and prefer her on the left since Randorf proved to be disastrous. But she’s often early:under the ball. However, when she makes good contact she can bring some heat. Reid/Hernandez: Reid brings tremendous energy, but Hernandez has a better all around game. Hill: A springy blocker with great energy. Needs to be more offensive, but she should stay at M2. Husemann: Big disappointment. She came in as a blocking specialist but didn’t do much of anything in Hawaii. Offensively brings nothing: Stinson: Makes some crazy plays, but needs to be more consistent passing-wise. Wright: Would love to see her swing from the back row as an option. She was an impressive OH for Mira Costa. Navarrete: Expecting more from one of the top Liberos in the class. Northwestern upset by UIC 3-2, Sha nay nay might be out the door after this season Please please please 🙏🏼 He did so well as a player at Loyola, and followed that almost immediately doing well as the coach there of the men’s team. Kind of surprised how much of a struggle it has been for his teams at NW.

He was on the up last season, but then the hazing scandal and the terrible losses this season. They are stacked with talent, but Sha nay nay just can't seem to make things happen
