She is a six foot pin hitter that plays six rotations. From her recruiting video she looks athletic, has hops, fast and has some pop. Tyler loves the athletic six rotation plays that can hit from the back so she looks to be a good fit. As a 2025 she even has time to further develop. Excited for her commitment and looking for more.

Undersized, but wow, she's incredibly dynamic. Quick feet, high vertical, and a whip for an arm.

I know us Beach fans are really excited to have her on campus in 2025. I also really like all the additional players that Tyler received commitments from for 2025. Ana Jelinek from Nebraska One is a very good all around player that has a lot of ability and Izabella Mahaffey from Arizona Storm is a refined libero that appears to have a very good understanding of the game. These three players are the type of all around athletes that Tyler looks far. Now just need to add some size. Fun years ahead.

Nest week is the start of double days and will be just the second season for Coach Tyler. Will be interesting to witness the program's progress as time goes by.
The roster is very large with 23 players listed. Not sure how this many players will be incorporated but I am sure there is a plan. Plenty of questions going into a season with so many new faces on both the players and coaches roster.
I have many questions or thoughts going into double days but here are a few:
- How will Glenn be utilized this season.
- Will freshman middle Lomigora improve fast enough to move into the starting lineup with so few middle blocker options.
- Wil Kennedy start the season in the middle or at a pin.
- Will one of the transfers become that dominating/reliable pin hitter that the program needs.
- Can super athletic O'Reilly win the right side position from day one.
- Will the ball control be better this year
- Can the team gel early and win some home matches vs tough opponents

I didn't see this one in here. I've watched her for the past couple of years locally. Very good all-around player with high VB IQ. A little undersized, so she will probably be a DS and utility OH if needed. https://www.instagram.com/p/Cuext19rt5m

Her height might limit her but if she is capable of being effective up front I am sure Tyler will give her a shot. I also see her as a DS that will attack from the back row. Tyler's system has plenty of opportunities for this type of attack. Really happy she chose LBSU and with her 2025 classmate Izzy Mahaffey from Arizona Storm joining her the Beach's ball control will be something special.

Each week during the season LBSU athletics has a weekly press conference with Tyler, the team's head coach. This is the opening press conference where Tyler talks about the opening match with Texas, the schedule, the first Big West tournament and some general program topics. Go Beach! My goodness. I just clicked on it as a Texas fan to see what he’d say about his team and the upcoming matchup. I did not expect such a powerful, impassioned press conference. That was extremely impressive. Some highlights for me: “I don’t know what’s going on with the PAC 12” when talking about all the best conferences. He didn’t mean it as a slight. He was just being honest, but it made me laugh a little bit. His breakdown of the scrimmage, where he talked about serving being rated as a 1.2, when the goal is a 1.8 (I don’t even know what that means). Passing rating for Pepperdine being a 2.84 in the first two sets (uh...what? How is that possible? Was Mac Podraza serving for LBU each time) then a 2.15 in the last 3. Dig percentage going from 58% to 82%. Just great stuff. His defense of having a conference tournament. I still don’t like it firvthe bigger conferences (even though the SEC will have one in 2024, so I’ll have to suck it) but his passion and conviction was overwhelming. Talking about the 5 member leadership committee. Talking about the growth in his setter, not even as a player, but as a person. Having totally open practices. The importance of building the fan base, which he reiterated over and over again. Then the fact you’ll have one of these every week. I’m a little blown away. If he does well he’s going to be hard to keep. I know he’s an alum, and he seems genuinely dedicated to building Long Beach back into a powerhouse, but big schools with big bucks will come calling. What happens on the court matters most, but based on that press conference he has all the intangibles a program would be looking for. Not trying to get him hired away. Just way more impressed than I expected to be before clicking on the link.

Maybe Wisconsin should start playing beach next year like Nebraska does. Their incoming 2024 setter is the Southern California state beach champion as a Junior. (Charlie Feurbringer)
