Beach slips to 54 in KPI after Fullerton, and fortunately only plays Fullerton once, so that drag on RPI & KPI will be lower
wins over #5, Texas, #48 Hawaii, & # 49 Indiana, with possibly 3-4 matches left against Hawaii & SB counting the BWCT. plus Davis @ 145 & Poly @ 129 all on the road. Pretty much no margin for error.
Serve-Receive this year vs. Last is the big difference. receiving at 0.947 vs. last year @ 0.942, which was higher than I though it would be. but opponents down at 0.910 this year
Agi at an elite 0.972 receiving as an all around, while now 3rd in the Big West in aces, is turning into a very solid all around OH.

Looks like Karich went down on her approach. Had to be carried off the court. Hopefully nothing serious

This is a big weekend for LBSU. The team needs to beat these teams because they are suppose too and let Hawaii battle both UCSB and Cal Poly and see how that shakes out. The Beach could very easily be tied for first place after this weekend and that is why they need to play well and win at home.
According to the coach, Abby will not be available and hopefully she will be back sooner that later. She really was coming on strong in the second half of the season. Really enjoyed watching her playing, especially her enthusiasm and joy playing the game.

big senior day vs. Bakersfield with Kennedy (leading the Big West in hitting % at close to 0.500 in conference), Hoff, Chavira, and Lesiak
Kennedy will end up a 4 year all conference indoor player, and 2 years as all conference Beach, earning all conference every year she's played indoor or outdoor.
nothing likely to be easy, as Beach still searching to get improvement on receiving and a bit of a patchwork line-up with the outside hitters.

Long Beach State streamed their Senior Day festivities after the CSUB match. They did a nice job. Each Senior got lei'd, lots of flowers, and their jersey with player number in a large frame. Also apparently a video shown in the arena but not online.

LBSU is in control of their own destiny the final two weeks. If the team wins out they will be at the very least co-regular season champions. With that said, playing four of the conferences top teams on the road to close the season is a tough task for sure.
This weekends matches vs UCSB and Cal Poly will be exciting and I expect them to be close, possibly both 5 set matches. Both play such a different style that playing them back to back posses its own problems. But as they say, you need to control your side of the net and if LBSU does that they will be in a good position to walk out with the W.
The surprise of the season has been Olivia Narancich. She steps in late in the season without any previous experience and produces to the level she earns big west freshman of the week with some great numbers. Will be interesting how Tyler uses her when some of the injured players return. Livi should really be proud of her performance and how she has helped the team win this past weekend.

key changes since the week one Beach-SB/Poly match-ups
Katie Kennedy was not available and did not play in either of the matches. Lomgoria did a great job filling in.
Poly had limited playing time with MB Amy Hiatt back at the start of conference, who has been playing better last couple of weeks. Also, I believe the Beach-Poly match was the last weekend Poly was playing a 6-2. since Bullis is setting with the 5-1. It's a different system since the first go around.
will be interesting match-ups.

Both of the 2024 signings are good players and should be great early additions. Really excited for the future with this class and the expected 2025 class and the solid foundation that will be established for years to come.

Beach sweeps UCSD, and closes out the 3rd set well.
another nice match for the frosh Narancich, with Glenn out
and Agi with another monster match, 17 kills, 14 in the last two sets alone. she is really confident. peaking at the right time
and then 3rd set, hopefully minor, as Lesiak gets a solo block via a point blank shot to what looked like the nose, so definitely wouldn't surprise if it was a broken nose. the last thing Beach needs, hopefully she'll be ok, but could see if she's out rest of the week
Saturday's match will be a battle. See if the Beach can grind it out.
