for Hawaii, it actually would have been better for them if Long Beach had won Hawaii had, and I still think is possible, to get teh #2 seed by beating Irvine (a much needed away win). Just the RPI, SOS, and quality win boost they could get from beating Beach IMO would have put them in the #2 seed. Playing UCSB is an RPI nightmare, a good team who it who just kills your RPI. assuming all the favorites win, the closest decision will be the #2 seed between Hawaii & Penn St. If Penn State loses, and Beach is in, teh #3 seed will become the really difficult decision for the committee now if Princeton, Stanford, and Irvine win, then yuk, historical yuk....., here's the unthinkable/unfathomable, a NCAA tournament nobody but Stanford, PRinceton, & Irvine & the MIVA want: #1: UCLA #2: Penn State or Hawaii (and hate mail is all over the place on this decision, because a lot of metrics are gonna favor Penn State) #3: Irvine #4: Ball State or Ohio State #5: Stanford #6: PRinceton #7: NOrth Greenville or KIng heck, in that case. GCU, Hawaii, Beach, and BYU could get together and hold a tournament in Vegas and it would be a better tournament than the NCAAsmy god, if history repeats itself and Prineton does the unthinkable and then gets ousted again. i'd go ... lol

PSU wins! I would imagine this should be it for Hawaii; regardless of the MPSF Final, Hawaii gets the at-large. LBSU needs to hope for a UCLA win tonight to get the other.

PSU with the head to head W should get #2 barring any upset Hawaii should have the advantage of top 2 seed. Their worst loss would be Long Beach while PSU’s was OSU.

There is no such thing as the worst loss. PSU has the head-to-head, a higher SOS, and a higher rpi, and basically, every major category favor PSU.

Assuming UCLA and Hawaii win, this would be my tournament seeding: 1) UCLA 2) Hawaii 3) Penn State 4) LBSU 5) OSU 6) GCU or BYU ( more likely GCU) 7) King
If both teams lose: 1) UCLA 2) Penn State 3) Hawaii 4) Irvine 5) OSU 6) Stanford 7) King

But, I digress.

PSU with the head to head W should get #2 barring any upset Hawaii should have the advantage of top 2 seed. Their worst loss would be Long Beach while PSU’s was OSU. Best win/worse loss isn't a mens volleyball criteria. In seeding the bracket the committee likely has a little more discretion in how they weigh the existing mens selection criteria. Hawai'i has the edge in the absolute number of criteria it owns over PSU. But PSU owns a few of those the committee has shown more weight to when they could in the past, such as H2H, RPI, and SOS. Although the edge in RPI and SOS isn't so far apart as to be particularly meaningful. So, should Hawai'i win over a hot UCI squad on UCI's floor, that might be enough to let the committee dismiss PSUs narrow edge in RPI and SOS. I think that Hawai'i should get the two seed with a win tonight, but it's close enough with PSU that the committee will be able to justify whatever they decide in seeding #2 and #3.

So I guess:
#1 UCLA #2 Hawaii (if they win BW) or PSU (If Hawaii loses) #3 Hawaii or PSU #4 tOSU #5 UCI or Beach #6 UCI or Beach or GCU/BYU #7 CC champ
