No matter what scenario, I just do not see LBSU getting into the NCAA Tournament. I remember a few years ago, Hawaii got bounced in the BWC Tournament semi-final and did not get into the NCAA Tournament. Reason being the Selection committee did not want 3 teams from the same conference in the NCAA Tournament. The Selection Committee wanted to spread out the invites throughout the country. Was Charlie Wade pissed.

So I guess: #1 UCLA #2 Hawaii (if they win BW) or PSU (If Hawaii loses) #3 Hawaii or PSU #4 tOSU #5 UCI or Beach #6 UCI or Beach or GCU/BYU #7 CC champ UCI doesn't have a realistic shot at an at-large. Beach and GCU both own the selection comps over UCI. The committee would have to widely (or wildly) deviate from the existing selection criteria to favor UCI. Highly unlikely to happen.

PSU went to Hawaii and beat them - PSU will be 2 Yes, they own the H2H. That's one criteria of nine.

Home record: Penn State 9-2; Hawai’i 17-2. Edge: Hawai’i Playing 19 home matches favors Hawaii?

Home record: Penn State 9-2; Hawai’i 17-2. Edge: Hawai’i Playing 19 home matches favors Hawaii? Hawai'i scheds with awareness of the criteria as written. Home record is winning% at home. So, Hawai'i owns PSU in home record criteria.

Home record: Penn State 9-2; Hawai’i 17-2. Edge: Hawai’i Playing 19 home matches favors Hawaii? A good point for sure, not sure I'd give that one a lot of weight .... the criteria is there to look at, but no clear instruction on how to use them, or how much weight to give them. I would guess that's where the discretion and subjectivity lies too. I would think criteria like h2h, rpi, results against common opponents and against teams under consideration .. might be given most weight and attention .... maybe?

Hawai'i is ahead of PSU 5-3 in the criteria without weighting. But, I believe that the committee has more discretion to weight as they see fit when seeding. Between Hawai'i and PSU it's close enough that the committee will be able to justify whatever conclusion they come to re #2 and #3 seeds.

Gotta win on the court regardless of who is 2/3....honestly with Toby hurt, I would rank Hawaii over PSU at this moment. I have no idea whether he will be back but being in a boot tonight isn't great since he is walking very gingerly.
