According to The Texas Thread, I'm thinking the team is embracing being "heels". I'm for it. Very often they're the heels regardless, so might as well embrace it. It's honestly difficult to think of someone like Eggleston or Fleck as heels, personality wise. But think of all the transfers and incoming freshmen they've had in the last couple of years. You have to get them prepared in some way for the reaction Texas gets in away gyms. It's not quite the same as Colorado, or Cal, or Utah, or even UCLA. And it's definitely not the same as club or even high school gyms, although I do know there are some intense high school volleyball rivalries out there. Not to be dismissive of the reaction those schools get, necessarily. I do understand rivalries like Cal/Stanford, Utah/BYU, or UCLA/USC are very heated. But it's not nearly every match, regardless of school. And only Wisconsin is going to get the kind of reaction in Omaha for the Final Four that Texas receives. And the Wisconsin one can make sense pretty early on for a young player in ways the reaction of Nebraska fans to Texas is not going to make sense to someone unfamiliar with the history.

Pavan did some barking in her time. Barking as in "woof woof" (as in huskies)? Because I think that's what tomclen is saying. Devin Robinson has taken to barking...as in "Who Let The Dogs Out"...but she did more staring at Kash Williams than barking last year (more blocks + less kills every match).

IMO With the Huskers out of the Omaha tournament Nebraskans would have supported Louisville over any team in the nation with the exception of Creighton.

And in my opinion they would have rooted against Texas against any team in the country, aside from maybe Wisconsin, where they would have rooted for a meteor. The point is Texas is rooted against a little more strenuously in places and in ways that players need to be prepared for. Embracing that fact is part of the preparation.

Stanford would have been a split crowd but Wisconsin would have support. In my experience Nebraska fans are pretty tactical in their support and know that success of other B1G teams when playing out of conference only makes the Huskers look a little better.

In my experience the seething emotions Nebraska fans have about the University of Texas in general far outweighs whatever emotions they have about Stanford, and that would be a huge factor in a volleyball matchup in their backyard. In any event, my point stands. If Texas plays in Omaha, in whatever sport, they can count on the Nebraska fans rooting for the other team under almost any circumstance.

Kayla Caffey was kind of a baddy with an atty. 💅 Why is that?

how come no one mentioned strivens since jc said he almost kicked her off the team (i believe when she was a freshman) jc's comments about strivens are @ the 3:50 mark...since people think others are making up stories Only fits the thread if you ignore the whole growth part of his statement after.
