Asllani scored in the second half to make it 2-0, and Sweden take third place (again!). The third time in the last four World Cups.

That is Sweden's fifth top three finish at the Women's World Cup with no title. They truly are to the women what the Netherlands are to the men. I was hoping that Sweden would advance to the final instead of Spain because they've been so close for so long, but alas.

For as long as I've watched women's soccer, Australia's backline has been the biggest factor keeping them from medals. And unfortunately we saw that again against England and Sweden. ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png) Second straight 4th place finish (2020 Olympics) for the Matildas.

England with the same lineup (James on the bench). Spain has Paralluelo starting in place of Putellas. Here we go...

Many big tournament finals are nervy, tight affairs where both teams play conservatively because nobody wants to lose a final.
This is definitely not that so far!

What a shot by Carmona, she also scored the game winner vs Sweden.

Not surprised to see Wiegman make two changes at the half. This should be interesting.

What a shot by Carmona, she also scored the game winner vs Sweden. And that's back to back game winners for Carmona. Spain 1-0.

So they broke even, but split a $152,000,000 prize pool? How does that work?

So they broke even, but split a $152,000,000 prize pool? How does that work? The prize pool is one of the expenditures that go against the revenue generated, just like any other expense. Not that complicated.
