Just what I've been saying all along. Voting in the US a farce. It doesn't make a difference. Realize that the situation is much much worse than you think.

Yawn. Tell us something we don't already know, like the virtues of Russia’s democratic elections.

Jeff Sachs? Enh. Well, he's not entirely wrong, even if he's overstating his case to a degree.

Taken over by powerful lobbies? Like shipping and commerce magnates working with plantation owners to guarantee access to trade while not disturbing a region's reliance on slave labor? Or are we talking about the influence of coal and steel business owners along with those building railroads across America?
I didn't realize we were going to talk about the historical origins of the US in this thread.

In what country is voting not a farce? Well Scandinavian countries for instance. They don't allow money in politics, they tax the hell out of the rich, highest unionization rates in the World. Highest standard of living. They rate the happiest people on Earth, best healthcare, most press freedoms, rate low in corruption. Nobody is perfect, but they make Americans look like savages.

Yup, Americans still have a lot to learn from Russia about dealing with opponents in election affairs:
