Nygaard hasn't recruited a big-time setter since Chris Hall, who I know was a VT fan favorite. Can't win without a QB

Is Blanchette coming in the Fall or Spring. I had heard he was going early, but didn't realize it was a year early. If he shows up in January, he's going to have to work hard to get up to speed during the middle of the season. Arriving in Spring almost seems like a waste of 1/2 a year of eligibility.

Nygaard hasn't recruited a big-time setter since Chris Hall, who I know was a VT fan favorite. Can't win without a QB To be fair he didn't need to? He inherited top 50 recruits in Jack Yoder and Gert Lisha in his first year. Signed Jameson McKibbin and Chris Hall. It's a roster management/coaching issue (development and not a recruiting problem).

Keep in mind that some of these athletes may have had grandparents that started a college trust fund at birth and a partial scholarship isn't required.Something I didn't experience. LOL

LOL Speaking of college funds, just wanted to make sure you all are aware of the Secure Act 2.0’s provision starting in 2024 that excess 529 funds can be redirected to a Roth IRA in the name of the same beneficiary as the 529. This is a great way to establish a sizeable legacy for children who aren’t able to earn enough to fund a Roth. You have to follow up with your own research, but here are some of the key facts: 1) lifetime limit of $35,000 to convert this way. 2) each year, the beneficiary still has their annual maximum (most would have $6500 per year right now) 3) 529 must have been open for at least 15 years. 4) can not use funds contributed in the last 5 years. My kids are part way through college so this is perfect for them since their 529s have lost a lot of tax advantage growth now that they’ve shifted to more stable asset preservation. Luckily, I have the means to substitute other funds for their remaining college expenses instead of that $35,000 of 529 money. This $35,000 will hopefully grow to about half a mil of fully tax free assets in 40-45 years when my kids likely will retire.

Just enough for most upper middle class families to squeak by on in a year if living in LA!

Friedman with the start yesterday. Surprising they cut last year’s starter for him to be the starter. Blanchette came in and played well. Guessing he will officially take over soon.

Do we know for sure he was cut? Yes Well maybe if this year is successful for Nygaard, we can possibly reason that players may have had more to do with poor season performances than coaching.

Who is blaming Tennant? I literally said if Nygaard saw these athletes as enough of an issue to cut them and it leads to success, MAYBE they played more of a factor in this USC down turn and it wasn’t JUST coaching. Reading comprehension is crucial people.

Do we know for sure he was cut? yes. Four players cut one month into school year. Kind of a bum move. Three were seniors
