My parents always brought inflatable pool floats to function as spare beds during road trips so that we could save on motel/hotel costs (4-5 of us incl. mom, dad, 2-3 kids). They're cheap and take very little space. The only drawback is that they make a lot of squeaky noises but a couple layers of blankets serve as silencers. These days, you can buy an air mattress which are a little more expensive but they're very comfortable, really large in their inflated state, and very small in their uninflated state. Alternatively, you can simply move the top mattress to the floor so one/two people sleep on the mattress and the other one/two sleep on the box spring (some are actually comfortable). For the hardy, you can just put a couple layers of blankets on the floor and you can get a good nap. I don't know what the problem is.

I haven't heard if there was any sex though. Will more details come out? His own non-profit pretty much got rid of him. They thought it whatever it is was big enough to sever ties with him in than to keep going with him. That says it all right there.

I haven't heard if there was any sex though. Will more details come out? "I haven't heard if there was any sex though." You do realize sexual misconduct does not necessarily mean sex, right? and that sexual harassment in the workplace is illegal? I am just confused by your comment and question. Do you think if he is sexually harassing is/was employees/peers, he shouldnt be held accountable, up to and including terminating his employment? Here are some more details from the Vice piece: www.vice.com/en/article/pkaqvn/tim-ballards-departure-from-operation-underground-railroad-followed-sexual-misconduct-investigation“Several weeks ago, an OUR employee who accompanied Tim on an undercover operation filed a sexual harassment complaint against him with OUR’s HR department,” the letter, which was sent this summer to donors to anti-trafficking causes, reads. “This resulted in an extensive internal investigation into Tim and his individual operational tactics and led to more women speaking up as part of the investigation process. “It was ultimately revealed through disturbingly specific and parallel accounts, that Tim has been deceitfully and extensively grooming and manipulating multiple women for the past few years with the ultimate intent of coercing them to participate in sexual acts with him, under the premise of going where it takes and doing ‘whatever it takes’ to save a child.” and just updated in the piece is Ballards reply from 9.19.23: Tim Ballard denied the sexual misconduct allegations, calling them “baseless.” His full statement is below: As with all of the assaults on my character and integrity over many years, the latest tabloid-driven sexual allegations are false. They are baseless inventions designed to destroy me and the movement we have built to end the trafficking and exploitation of vulnerable children. “During my time at O.U.R., I designed strict guidelines for myself and our operators in the field. Sexual contact was prohibited, and I led by example. Given our meticulous attention to this issue, any suggestion of inappropriate sexual contact is categorically false.” I find it very interesting he so specifically says sexual contact, not sexual misconduct. Like Trump whining about "I didn't delete the video. the video was turned over, so to say I deleted the video is a lie." Unfortunately for both these guys they are denying something they are not accused of doing (or at least not just that) Ballard is accused of sexual misconduct and sexually harassing behavior, not sexual contact, and Trump is accused of TRYING to have the video deleted, not actually deleting it... These guys are so dumb it just scares me that people who defend them don't see how dumb their defense is...

Will the sequel be called "The Sound of Litigation?" Anyway, the allegations in the complaint are creepy AF, to say the least. Reading it, another thing struck me - Salt Lake City has strip clubs?

I have visions of women in long jean dresses, hiking them up and flashing bare ankle or maybe even *gasp* calf. Do they sell alcohol or caffeinated drinks? The article implies it. But yes. I found this one where a local strip club fought hard for a liquor license, where the rationale was that as a beer-only licensee they were at a disadvantage with their competitors. www.sltrib.com/news/2020/10/27/utahs-only-available-bar/On Tuesday, the state liquor commission said of the applicants that are open or ready to do so, Duces Wild was the most deserving. “Remaining a tavern, would put it at a disadvantage when competing against other businesses in the area," said commissioner Thomas Jacobson. “It is important from a business standpoint to be able to compete." In addition, Jacobsen said, several other applicants already own existing bars. Utah is currently experiencing a shortage of bar licenses, which are doled out based on population. State law allows one bar for every 10,200 people. The next bar permit is not expected to become available until December.
And one bar for every 10K+ people? Wow. There's a small city near me and I'm sure they got at least a dozen bars in a city with less than 20,000 people.

Sex, food, sleep, water -- any human city is going to provide ways to buy these things. Alcohol can also probably be found, but it's not on the same level of universality as those others.

I’ve had cocktails in Salt Lake City on multiple occasions. Not a big deal, even though there are some arcane rules, like bartenders being legally prohibited from pouring you a double or beer on tap having to be 3.2 or less. Happy hours are illegal as well. But strip joints? That’s news to me.
