why does Italy even put up with Mazzanti?? He’s wasting prime Egonu years Italy doesn't support Mazzanti but frankly I don't know who could guarantee something better. The team (in my opinion) has big temperamental problems and will punctually fail when they feel under pressure or when they are given as favorites. well Lavarini was available post Olympics… they chose to stay with Mazzanti… |

Only in Italy there is the questionable rule of "doppio incarico", according to which (With the exclusion of Santarelli) the coach of a national team cannot be the coach of an Italian club.

What I got from it (I read it in Italian and Spanish) was that he thinks of his VNL crew as the group he's invested in and there were only a handful of later additions that have been selected for the roster. Bosetti reliable player maybe will be missed but she seemed to me to be a little down. I had been wondering for years what Chirichella was doing on the national team: good against mediocre teams, fading against stronger ones. Mazzaro is injured. In any case, the VNL girls showed much more grit than some of those who played the Olympics and World Cup. That said, yes. This could be a big step backward. But, as I wrote months ago, Italy's high point is now past, hopefully these will make a good impression at least. |

If he really starts Nwakolor over Egonu im going to be pissed cuz thats probably the last we will see of her in an Italy shirt I think, for emotionally fragile girls (in my opinion) , starting from the bench can take a lot of performance anxiety off their shoulders. Knowing that everything is not up to you and that there is a viable change can get you out of stressful situations. I hope this choice is (also) for that reason. |
