Then if for him the VNL team is a base for (in theory) easier matches, in my opinion that is a valid reasoning. Otherwise many people wish him to win it all; if not, he will have to update his resume. |

If indeed there is some emotional fragility (not just Egonu but the team in general) starting from the bench is almost equivalent to what used to happen to Egonu in the Vakifbank, that is, they would pass the ball to her but only when Cansu had passed the ball all the others. Passing her 60+ balls per game, Conegliano style, might consciously or unconsciously increase her anxiety or pressure. If, as I believe, the racist issue is only the trigger for the outburst (and the cause was the long stressful period), Mazzanti's might be a sensible solution.
Then if he has other ideas, I don't know. Of course Mazzanti's there are many, Egonu's are not (in Italy). |
