Off topic but Stephanie Samedy is snatched tonight I'm watching the replay now and had to pause it to make sure someone else pointed this out. Good lord she is stunning. Do you think she would date someone that is 5’11? Asking for a friend (it’s me, I’m the friend), lol.

Maybe KCook had to promise to give Landfair an extended tryout at 6ro to get her to agree to stay after the coaching change...

well I mean I don’t think Minnesota is going to just beat Texas 25-12 25-15 25-17 lol. I do think it’ll be a sweep tho to be fair I didn’t know oneal would play. But also yea Texas really played well. Congrats to them for sure.

Got back from the match and catching up on the thread here.
First off, there seemed to be a lot of confusion on the Elliott challenge on the Landfair serve. Elliott wasn't challenging that Landfair stepped on the line. He was challenging that Landfair had served from outside the boundary of the court (line extended). In watching the replay, Landfair was outside that imaginary line extended until her last step when she moved back to a legal spot.
Speaking of Landfair, I am sure there are pressures for Cook to play Landfair all of the way around to help her get ready for the next level of volleyball. However, we are rapidly approaching or have already reached the time for her to be done with this. She is not being used much for back row attacks and her shanks and poor passes are too much of a drag on the team.
The team is fun to watch and the vibe in the building is better. Just need to tweak a few things. Also, most of the time please use Grote.
This team is going to have a chance to go deep this year.

well, might I encourage you to find what was actually said, and then read and comprehend what was said BEFORE spouting off? Because what you did was allege an actual quote of what you *think* was said, make no real qualifier to it other than "something along those lines" and then pass it off as the truth, when it wasn't (At least as far as it concerns me). I hate purposeful liars, but indifferent lying is just as bad. For your reference, what I said is below: If anything, it was nellynel, a Texas fan that actually said "I’m not sure as great as she is would have made much of a difference". Gotta side with ay on this one 😅 Same. Ay got her together

Out of System all night is what happened. isn’t that the point of the opposite? Not when you have two OH's like Minnesota. Besides, opposites consistently taking out of system balls isn't really the NCAA way.

Early in the year and we see some up and down performances with surprising wins based on what was expected at that particular time. After today a few more surprises. Texas was the best team. Won the first touch game which went a long way in winning. O’Neal showed her immense presence on offense and defense and the middles were the better tandem for Texas. Minnesota needs a second quality ds/ libero in the passing and digging area badly based on today. Landfair at 6’5 in the backcourt today was a definite hindrance in Minnesota winning. What is the status of the young international player for 2023?

Congrats to Texas on the win. Obviously, having O'Neal back helps a lot, but the service pressure must have been a lot better than in the opener as well, which is a good sign for them.

Definitely stepped up play from opening weekend but I wonder how long Texas can will go before a change is made on the pins. All 3 hitting below 200 is not sustainable. But progress is progress.

I've said before how having so many service errors can keep a team from getting into any kind of offensive rhythm. Against Long Beach, we had 17 service errors in the 4-set match, and only 2 service aces. While having Asjia could have changed the outcome of that match (but injuries are out of our control), not having committed so many service errors most likely would have changed the outcome of that match, especially had we won the first set. Last night, we had 10 service aces, and ONLY 8 serving errors in the 4-set match; that's an average of 2 service errors per set. Not often a team has more aces than service errors. texassports.com/sports/womens-volleyball/stats/2023/-5-minnesota/boxscore/15599

I guess the question is does our coaching staff believe that any of our other pin hitters would have hit for a higher percentage, blocked better, and passed better? Skinner is not leaving the floor. And, Byrd is not gonna give us all the skills/intangibles Wenaas gives us. Devin for Molly on the right side? Possibly; but, Molly must have been doing all she was asked to do last night or the staff would have brought in Devin, even for just a rotation or two; didn't happen.

I can see why they didn’t last night, won 3-1 on the road, could have been 3-0. No need to panic. I was optimistic the passing could stabilize once Barnes, Halter, Akana started playing. My concern for the pins terminating has not gone away after the opening weekend. Hopefully it improves.Devin is the most likely based on those questions.
