I live in Austin, go to nearly all their games (not just vb). It is absolutely about Texas. It's about Texas' perspective their state is the best place on earth despite significant evidence to the contrary. They are very different than other fan bases. All fan bases are like that. They tend to be more humble when they haven't won a title yet. But once they do, restraints quickly drop off. Just look at the early commentary in the Wisky/Ark thread where cheeseheads expected their team to trounce the hogs. You would not have seen that from them a few years before. I know that if GT somehow sneaks in and wins a title against all odds, then I'm just going to become a major league supreme ass. Even moreso than I am now. Yes, I know, that's hard to believe. Work with me here. You talk to me like I haven't experienced other fan bases. This is quite condescending. Bye. |
