Typical Arizona problems against LBSU. The Beach have 7 aces (0 for Arizona) and 32 digs (21 for Arizona). Neither team is hitting well. Arizona is just doing it worse. The Beach are at .127. The Wildcats at .066.
S2 was tied at 16. LBSU now up 22-16 and a set.

LBS up two sets on Arizona. LBS led by Karich and Glenn with 6 kills each. Cats only hitting .59 for the match. Sofia hitting negative. She is very on or very off.

AZ swept by LBSU. LBS led by Agi with 10 kills. They held AZ to .084. Hopefully they can do better in their next match vs. New Mexico State.

difficult match to gauge
Arizona looks REALLY BAD, and maybe some was very effective Beach serving, especially first two sets. man, that back-row play from Zona did not look well
also, does Arizona have middles. it seemed like they took a couple of swings all match, and I think the MBs hit negative, for middles, hard to recall a more enept middle attack I've ever seen
as to Beach, the serving is a big improvement this year, and today. Agi's serve looked like she really improved it from just a couple weeks ago.
Agi though did not have a lot of good swings first two sets, and then she was on fire the last set. Now if she can serve and attack both in the same set, that'd be awesome.
Meyer was more aggresive attacking, yay! been waiting for her to attack more.
all in all, a huge win, even though Beach still needs much better attacks, way too many errors. that they were clobbering Arizona and basically not hitting great I"m not sure what that says about either Beach or Arizona.

I believe the lack of middle production stems from the passing and setting issues. Ana rarely gets a decent pass and even when she does, the middle connection doesn’t seem to be there. To be fair, most our offense is reliant on the pins even if we are in system.

Neither team looked very good. It was a painful match to watch no matter which team you supported. Setter-hitter connections and back row defense was bad on both sides. The Beach was serving lollipops high and short effectively for the first two sets , so I’m not even sure I would say their serving was good or improved. Glen was taking better swings, but the Arizona block was getting a lot of touches and she wasn’t hitting high enough hands to score that often. Meyers’ location regardless of the quality of the pass has been shaky this season.

Here's the recap of the match between Arizona & LBSU. Rita said the best part of the day was that it's over. Yikes. Does not sound like a harmonious locker room. Umm... No. It wasn't last year, either from what I heard. The same conflict between setter and pins when Emery was still here. Have also been told that there were other personality conflicts. I think Rita has hinted about it when she talks about how most women need to feel good about their teammates to play well together but most of the time men just need their teammates to be good. They don't have to like them. As for the middles, AJ can be a good attacker. She was better last year, I feel. Nicole is trying but she has trouble scoring. She's a better blocker than AJ, though. Last year, Arizona had better offense from the middle than they had in years. It's fallen off. No Zyonna, unfortunately.
