It's a reference to El Palo Alto (The Tall Tree) Admittedly my Spanish is trash, but I always thought Palo Alto meant "high stick" or more loosely "high bar," as in, Stanford sets a high bar for their students. Apparently I should have asked someone when I lived amongst the Palo Altos. Palo Altoers. Palo Altonians. Whatever. |

Now that Texas has virtually no hope of hosting a regional, I can actively root against Stanford. Let’s go Luper and Co! I can't go for that. As a Badger fan, it's clear that Louisville needs that first big L. Do it Stanford. |

Stanford is the decided underdog in this matchup. Louisville's main flaw seems to be unforced hitting errors. If they minimize those they should send the Card back to Palo Alto with a loss.
