I have to say though, Bower really does have some amazing hands. There were so many balls that I was expecting to be doubled and she just set the h outta that ball. If she was four inches taller, gotta imagine she would be in the running for the national team. You can tell how aggressive she is with her playmaking, which is something that we're missing in the USA gym.

Is it the same announcer tonight? I hope not That’s was FS1. We’ll see how they do with their volleyball broadcasts. They have the first match against Baylor on Thursday night, too. It wasn’t good, but it still doesn’t dampen my enthusuasm that Fox is showing volleyball matches on FS1. My hope is that the actual telecast gets better. One thing I’ll say is that they tried to do their homework prior to the match. It’s not like they showed up at tip off. The play by play guy was just so awful. They have to get someone else.

I have to say though, Bower really does have some amazing hands. This is interesting because Bower's praise usually comes from her non-pure setting abilities, but everything else she does. I always thought her hands could be much cleaner.

Horns will have a very tough weekend. BYU bringing the pain. Well, BYU brought the pain for 1 set only. Just read the comments During the 1st set. Geez a bunch of cry babies. Nice job UT to not freak out (like these posters) and just play.

Texas solidly won all three sets.

Um the freakout was 100% justified. We were in serious danger of not clearing 10 points 25-13 is a big enough blowout as it is. But to get to that point Texas had to go on a pretty incredible 7-1 run just to get to that lopsided score. BYU led 23-6. I'm not sure Texas has been in front of the Little Sisters of the Poor by that margin. I'll need to ask Auburn fans what that feels like.

Yeah, I'm with both of you. I Like Bower and thinks she's a good setter, but I don't think she's an elite setter. I think her best setting year was Fall of 2021, but she's regressed a bit in terms of location and consistency since that season. Her location is too inconsistent when compared to elite setters. This is most true for her backsets. Her location consistency is pretty good to the left side. But I do think she's an elite athlete.

if anyone is just waiting for this game to happen, feel free to listen to me color commentate at 6pm CT for an hour before this match starts UNT vs Tulsa (need ESPN+ i believe) www.espn.com/watch/catalog/be9385dc-c518-3a55-9197-ec47a9e0e7f6/volleyball#bucketId=29774&sourceCollection=Browse_By_Sport_NewUNT has some high flyers and runs a potent 6-2. they can just overwhelm teams with their offense, or they kill themselves with errors. you never know exactly what you're getting. Treyuanna Rush and Sh'Diamond Holly lead the charge, with Anyse Smith being a rockstar for them recently. Tulsa is led by fifth-year Kayley Cassaday, who leads the NATION in attacks (and maybe kills still?). she had a rather "pedestrian" 16 kills in their 3-1 win over UNT last night, but she averages 5.4 kps and 2.9 dps on the season so far (while hitting .270).

Please, I beg you to use cringe-worthy phrases to describe plays that we've heard over the years.
"Natural point"
"Overhand"
"Did you know Asjia's Dad is Jermaine O'Neal"
But, I figured you'd probably actually want to participate in more games in the future....so

Every time Swindle would push the ball to the left where Wenaas was waiting, with my inside voice I would scream, "NOOOOOOOO!"
Three times, though I was so frustrated and blurted out:
1. NOOOOOOOOO!!!! (woman in front of me turned around to look at me)
2. You gotta quit setting Wenaas!
3. Oh Nooooooooooo!!!!
When pressed Swindle gets tunnel vision as to who to send the ball to.
