I love how team sports work. when are we gonna address the girl in your profile pic! everyone talking about the OH1 but both played WORLDS better than Molly. I mean .053 with 1 block in 5 sets as an opposite? SHEESH. Devin this, Jenna that, let’s get Devin on the right full time. she can split the OOS balls with Jenna when Madi is backrow so Jenna doesn’t have to get all of them. I bet we would have a whole new appreciation for Jenna and Devin if that happened. I’m not picky. I think Kahahawai’s upside is higher than either player.

Jenna is hitting better and almost all of her swings are OOS it seems like.

She looks like the same Molly Phillips she's always been to me, except with Wenaas as the other outside hitter instead of Fields or Skinner, plus a freshman setter. Elliott obviously values her for her reliability and her leadership. I do not happen to value those qualities as much as he does. I value Kahahawai's perceived upside a lot more than he does. Hence the quandary for the both of us.

Just don’t disappoint us in December. We’ll be disappointing you all the way to Tampa, babes. oof! Let's bookmark this. Which regional host are ya'll gonna upset to get to Tampa? But actually, on second thought, this might not disappoint me. I'd for sure root for Texas in a Texas-Wisconsin showdown. As it stands, Texas is more likely to be an underdog than not in a Regional Final (at least in terms of seeding).

Swindle has been less than stellar this year in my opinion. ALL their players are getting sets that are little rough, more than last year

I’m used to Molly being a reliable right side option that takes care of business to the best of her ability. this year, we aren’t getting even close to that imo

As it stands, Texas is more likely to be an underdog than not in a Regional Final (at least in terms of seeding). Any predictions of Texas making it to the Final Four are more fan talk to me than anything else. Nothing wrong with that. I don't think Texas is better than any of the prospective regional hosts. They've lost to two of them in Gregory Gym, and they certainly don't look better than either Nebraska or Wisconsin when those teams are at their best. Nonetheless, upsets happen. I wouldn't be happy as a regional host to see Texas in my bracket, that's for sure. They're a fantastic serving team, decent defensively with one of the country's best blocks, two likely 1st team AAs in O'Neal and Skinner. They have warts, but so does everyone. They have at least a puncher's chance in any bracket they're in, and probably a little better than that. But early in the season I was questioning whether they'd be able to keep the Sweet 16 streak alive, so I'm glad they've improved immensely since then. Still more to go. Texas doesn't have the same kind of challenges left on their schedule that other Power Conference teams do, but I thought that before the TCU match and ended up having to eat my words there, so we'll see what happens.

Here’s what I see in the flames. Texas gets sent to Stanford as the 6th seed. Texas pulls a San Diego in highly contested 4-set match. Jerritt credits their early loss and improvements made for the win. You all eat your shoes.

It will pay dividends in the post season of they can shore up their connection now. We’ve already seen it be good, they just need to build consistency. That’s my 2-cents

I’m used to Molly being a reliable right side option that takes care of business to the best of her ability. this year, we aren’t getting even close to that imo I guess what I see is the sets not being as good. She's not wide open on the right side the way she was before with Eggleston/Fields, Eggleston/Skinner on the floor. She's never been good with out of system sets. Ever. Her hitting percentage was based on not having a block formed and getting great sets. So her hitting percentage being so poor is more systemic based on how much this team is not as good on the attack generally as her previous teams. But she still looks the same to me. Which is why I'd prefer Kahahawai get the nod. She's about the same height, with a much better vertical, and a much stronger arm. Heck, I think Kahahawai playing to her potential in place of Wenaas makes Phillips better as well. That's my opinion, not fact. Maybe what we've seen IS Kahahawai playing to her potential. I just don't believe that.

It happens. Need to get there first, of course. That Sweet 16 match is going to be more formidable than usual.
