Transfers from Euro club teams don't count I guess. Whatever, Transfrer U is alive and well and on it's way to hosting. Good for you. The reach of calling European recruiting as "transfers from Euro club teams" is crazy. Isn't the Turkish libero Z carrying all of Minny's hope to have a decent libero next season LOL? So because you can't identify or recruit European talent as well as Wisconsin, you try to spin it as "transfer from Euro club teams"? More salt here than the Dead Sea. lol, glad you liked that one. Almost as good as your #1 recruits crack. Can't you just win with class, or are you Badgerbadgerbadger fans trying to be like GBR?

Anyway, I thought the gophers actually played pretty well compared to some matches I watched recently.

"To poach a player means to buy them in a secretive, somehow dishonest way – to steal them." Tell us straight up, anonymous punk. Is this what you mean?
It's patently untrue any way you spin it. You know it and everyone else knows it. It should be a dead issue but stupid people keep bringing it up because they are angry and frustrated. Your team lost. Get over it and grow up.
Maybe Minny should do a better job of getting better transfers. Honestly, Grote and Murr are pretty good pickups. It's Choboy that really would have made a difference. Playing next to Murr may have had a big impact on this team - though I'm not sure if Murr's transfer was precipitated by Choboy's decommitment (she was committed, right?)

like is the slip of minny purely bc of cook or a combo of the recruiting classes simply not being as strong/able to mesh together which also can lead back to cook It’s players that either haven’t developed over the past 2 years or just aren’t putting in high level effort. This is 1st on the players…next on both coaching staffs during that time. Hugh needs to get a big part of the blame here for his poor handling of his resignation last season and what seems like a poor coaching transition from someone who’s still in Minnesota employ.

It's a leap to assume Cook would've even given Choboy any playing time over any of his pin hitters.

Did you know her dad was in the NBA?

Minnesota had some nice moments but just was outclassed all night by Wisconsin. Gotta feel for Wucherer, she really struggled today both with passing and swinging. She looks lost out there at times and wasn’t aggressive on covering the swings, she just hoped the ball would land out and got burned twice. Something just isn’t clicking for her right now and I hope she can figure it out. She’s too talented to play like this.
On the other side of the net, just a really complete game from Wisconsin. Franklin was an absolute star tonight, both GG/Orzol were great in the back row and the block was top level. I think Wisconsin is the best team in college volleyball right now when they play like this.

Did you know her dad was in the NBA? Fun facts. Anna Smrek's dad [Mike Smrek] was also an NBA player, with the LA Lakers. He has 2 championship rings and I think he was Shaq's backup IIRC. Good genes for volleyball players.

Choboy had verbally committed but not signed. Hugh announced his resignation before signing day to be fair to the incoming class and give them a chance to go elsewhere. Choboy, who IIRC had already recommitted from Penn State after Russ retired, made her move and JCook snapped her up quickly.

Anyway, I thought the gophers actually played pretty well compared to some matches I watched recently. I agree. They ran into the best team in the NCAA playing its A game. Nobody, not even Nebraska, would have beaten them today.

I thought the Gophers played pretty good, especially with how up and down they’ve been all season. It’s just that Wisconsin is THAT good!! Although it seemed too late to do so, it was refreshing to see some line up changes near the end. Did anyone see Wookie get subbed out? Did Cook pull her? Or did she bench herself? If I recall, there was a game earlier this season where she mouthed “I’m done” to Cook after she was clearly frustrated with her play.

Choboy's passing was sus in the start of the season and IDK if Minny's coaching staff would have been able to fix it by this point.

I haven't read through the comments, and I don't know what TV might have shown, but there was a nice moment near the end of the third set. GG was subbing out for the last time, and Sheffield gave a good, 'long' hug as she came off, a sort-of "great job, great comeback match" after having benched her Friday night.
