I’m glad you appreciate the Badgers 2021 national championship team of players who decided to finish out their careers where they started! Yes yes, and they played their four years withOUT a championship, but then were given another year, the bizarre Covid year… and yes they won… good job, but that title will always have a asterisk * on it… Rettke and Hilley would have never won without that bonus year… but you know that.. and now Haskell is back at it with his portal shenanigans… sorta funny, sorta sad. . . Just like 17034 is just a number, and 92003 is the record…. Maybe that’s why, Nebraska Volleyball is- 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆 and Wisconsin Volleyball is- 🏆* sorry It takes a a special kind of insecure person to concoct a post like this. Bravo!

You all strengthen like every other team. Did lashes develop well at NE? How about Orr? Is Cook waiting to unveil her progression from top recruit to best ncaa setter? Did Lexi get better at NE after being an AA? I'm so, so confused so please help. If you were close to factual I might concede something but you're warped and waaay right of factual. And I for one am happy NE has volleyball because the state has Warren Buffet and VB...THAT IS IT. Enjoy and looking forward to getting back to dominating you next match. The new WI winning streak begins then.

This is just silly. Wisconsin can build their team with high quality transfers because they have built a program they want to go to. Also acting like TTA is the only top transfer they got is just crazy. Downplaying that Franklin was a first team All Big 10 at Michigan State is just silly and Carter was on the All Freshman at Minnesota. what is silly is acting like Franklin and Booth were finished products that Wisconsin just slotted together to make a super team. Her ambition was to play in the Big Ten, and Michigan State was the best program that offered her a scholarship. She suffered an injury that cut short her freshman season, but she averaged 3.96 kills per set to finish third in the conference behind Minnesota’s Stephanie Samedy and current teammate Temi Thomas-Ailara in 2021.
But she concluded after two seasons in East Lansing that it wouldn’t provide her the opportunity to test her game at the highest level. She’s found that at Wisconsin.
“It’s everything that I hoped for and more,” Franklin said. “When I was younger I really wanted to play at the highest level. Being in it now is just so much more exciting. The plays are bigger, the moments are better. It’s just really cool to see how much I’ve grown here.
“I’m just so grateful every day that I get to be a part of this program that is so hard-working and determined to be able to push each other. It’s not just, 'I want to be the star of everything'. I want it to be a whole team. You cannot win a volleyball game 1 vs. 6; it’s 6 vs. 6.
“(At Michigan State) it was cool because I was getting so many balls and getting so many kills. But I was making so many errors and there were still lots of points to be had. So being at the level that I am now, I feel like my all-around game is a lot smoother.” [Sarah Franklin, speaking to Dennis Punzel for a WSJ online article]
Facts are stubborn things, but that doesn't deter a stubborn subgroup of Husker fans. It all boils down to "My team is better than your team and my coach is better than your coach". Pathetic is one way to put it.

Just ignore the trolls. The thing I've never understood about anyone who claims Sheff is a weasel or that we're Transfer U, etc. etc. is that it's not like Wisconsin is holding a gun to these players heads or kidnapping them in the dead of night... they WANT to come to Wisconsin! THAT'S the part that stings. It's just sour grapes. Players want to play for successful programs. As if Carter Booth called up Chris Tamas in December and showed interest in becoming an Illini, does inpaign think Tamas would politely decline, saying "no thanks, I like to develop my own talent, but thanks for showing interest"? Please. 🙄 But that won't happen, because Booth is already on a team that she's having a blast with, that has a good shot at winning the whole enchilada this year. It's funny you bring up this point! As someone who is close to the Illinois coaching staff, I can confidently say our staff opts not to be super active in the transfer portal. Sure, if Booth wanted to come to Illinois, of course Tamas would take her...he's not a dumbass. But there's a reason our only transfer this year was Vanessa Pan, an ex-Ivy League player who played on a poor Columbia team. Our staff's philosophy is to develop the players we have and only dip into the portal when in dire need. And honestly, I think there's something to respect about that! I feel bad for the Wisconsin players riding the bench who won't see a lick of playing time because a bunch of transfers (whom are more talented!) took their spot, i.e. Ella Wrobel! Sadly, not using the transfer portal is just not successful in the Big Ten and I hope Illinois utilize the portal more in the coming year. There's no doubt both Wisconsin and Illinois are proven programs with a history of success, and there's also no denying that Wisconsin is finding more success by using the transfer portal. But that certainly doesn't mean we can't respect programs whom are less reliant on the portal this season. I promise you the vast majority of volleyball fans are rooting against Wisconsin this year, as they were Texas last year! The common theme of those teams? TRANSFER U!

For the hundredth time, Wrobel has has back problems ever since she arrived. The last four or so matches, she has been dress is sweats on the sideline, not even available to go in. Of course, I'm telling this to someone who by his own admission is "trolling the Badger fans just a little too much". And one who wants his team "this offseason [to] dip into [the portal] a little bit more."

And to think that Illinois is sitting at 5th in the B1G (hey, after this pre-season I’ll take it… not complaining)and cannot even score 40 points against #2 in the conference. What a brutal year for the conference.

Be offended I don’t care. It is actually insulting to players to act like they were nothing before Wisconsin. Franklin wasn’t NPOY material at MSU but she definitely is at Wisconsin… she however was good enough for first team.

Why don't you save your whine for the next Wisconsin Nebraska game thread instead of polluting this one.

It's a sign of a great program I mean you claimed an injured player was blocked by a transfer. We are loaded with transfers because players clearly love the program. We don’t have starters ever leaving as transfers.

It's a sign of a great program The real question is why are Cornhusker fans the ones so fascinated about Wisconsin incoming transfers. Also I don't think Coach Sheffield is so rude to call a recruit at 12:00 am on the morning when recruiting starts like someone else has done.

Give me a break. & you're telling me Sheffield would turn away either of them so that Wrobel could play? yeah right.

The TTA that's currently hitting .207 for the season? Yeah, Wrobel would have a chance to beat her out if she was healthy. No, of course Sheff wouldn't turn away a top transfer, but Sheff WOULD give the recruits and the transfers equal chances to win the starting job. I don't know how things are run at Illinois, but at Wisconsin, starting jobs are won in practices and games , and not guarantees. A healthy Wrobel would be given the starting role if she can prove in practices she's better than the current version of TTA. Period. You trying to claim otherwise is plain ridiculousness with 0 evidence whatsoever.
