Why tf does Nebraska get a full documentary, I guess we need more players to get DUI’s, and maybe lose a national championship lmao. I understand the stadium thing but you played basically a community college really cool

I understand the stadium thing but you played basically a community college really cool The stadium match triggered the Nebraska documentary as being first. Most of the footage was shot last fall. The show runners said that there would be more E60 documentaries with the rise in popularity of volleyball. Texas being in an ESPN conference your time will come.

I understand the stadium thing but you played basically a community college really cool You won the natty. Why are you mad? lol Texas is more than welcome to pursue/pitch a documentary to tell stories they feel are worth sharing. There was an entire network just for Texas sports for many years.... Nebraska was approached by espn after they learned about the stadium match and that moment in women's sports, as well as learning about what was going to be a season heavily reliant on freshmen. That includes the ups and the downs. Not every story has its perfect magical ending. Texas peaked at the right time, Nebraska fell apart at the worst time. In many ways, that's a more interesting experience to dive into than "Nebraska worked really hard and in the end it worked out perfectly" would've been. The fact of the matter is Texas is a dominant force of college athletic nature. They are great at so many sports and volleyball is one of many. Husker volleyball is basically part of the state's identity, and much of the midwest. It's fairly unique in that regard. That won't suddenly help them win the rematch if a rematch happens this year. But it provides some context as per your question.

Anyway, an ESPN doc on a college volleyball program is good for all college volleyball programs.

I understand the stadium thing but you played basically a community college really cool They were #1 most of the year. They did the football stadium gimmick. ESPN started following them around and then had all this footage and put it together for content knowing that the lovers and haters of GBR would tune in.
LHN created two specials about the 2022 and 2023 teams*, so we have nothing to snark about.
*The difference is that these teams actually won a NC, not projected to win a NC.

Personally I think it makes us look petty and insecure to be churlish about attention given the Nebraska program. No offense to you, volleyhorn. You're just expressing your thoughts. Your a passionate Texas fan so I get where you're coming from to an extent. But I've spent my life listening to people gripe about how much attention Texas receives, just to shrug my shoulders and say, "And?"
I think there's room for other programs to be covered by the sports media, and if you're going to follow one, Nebraska volleyball sure seems like a good one to follow from nearly every perspective other than winning it all, which is impossible to predict if you're doing a documentary about the season as a whole.
To me the more visibility women's volleyball has the better. And if you look at the TV ratings numbers, there's a reason why Nebraska dominates nearly all the top slots. The whole state tunes in when the volleyball teams plays. The whole state, plus anyone who has ever lived for any appreciable time in the state. It's pretty unique that way.
