This would have been nice to win for the battle to host regionals, but aside from that I am approximately 0% worried.
We have plenty to work on and plenty of time to work it out in
Emma was amazing. Jenna was much improved I thought When Mari is on she’s on, but she’ll have to learn to hit angles and resist the urge just to try to slam it down when I’m it’s not working. This is her first season as a starter, so again not too worried We desperately need to work on effective tips and out of system shots. Two-hand push or tip if you must, but not right into the lap of the libero

secondary setters are pushing attackers too close to the net. seeing a spark from devin The secondary setters also need to stop stepping in front of the setters so much… To be fair they’re used to swindle only having one working foot.

When you have two quarterbacks, you have no quarterbacks. The old football saying.
JE you have to decide who your setter is and stick to it. One is good with outsides and one is good with middles. Decide.
Same with your OPP. You pull the OPP that helped win set 4 and put in the shorter OPP in set 5? You're the boss, but be consistent so they know who they're playing next to.
Serve receive is the old Texas serve receive/bad passing. And Minny dug the heck out of everything we'd normally kill - so whatcha going to do?
Singletary suffering the first year starting MB blues, net violations. Ames, not very accurate and sometimes surprised the ball set for her. Not a good sign.
Wennas. Sigh. Tonight was bad Jenna.
And the Bic was silenced.
The only bright side was Halter.
Putting Rutherford back in in set 5 was for the double sub so Averi didn’t have to block. We just never made it out of that rotation. Edit: the way halter was playing, I would have took my chances with averi for a better look at setting location.

One thing JE has spoken about in different interviews as that when Texas was 5-3 and staggering, the team didn't come apart and start pointing fingers.
I made the mistake of watching the Stanford-Wisconsin game and throughout the game I kept saying, "Yeah, Stanford is good, but if this is their play this year, I think we'll be okay when we to Palo Alto".
Ummmm, now I'm a bit nervous.
I believe Indiana and Miami will be on the receiving end of some coaching up that will be happening this week.
Maybe just have Ella go back into injury-play mode and not jump set. Seemed to work last year.
But seriously, yeah we got exposed with two new MBs and MBU isn't used to that.

She got aced like 8 times yesterday Stanford is serving like Texas was in the Final 4. Texas is not. I really had high hopes for our serving this year but it hasn’t been that great in either game so far. Hopefully that can improve because it’s going to be key if we want another deep postseason run.

As far as losses to learn from go, my guess is Minnesota will prove in the end to be a ‘good’ loss. I said that in some thread earlier and got lol’d, but they are going to shock some teams, I really believe. Madi will Madi in December, I’m not worried. But the gag is if she’s being scouted this hard by teams, she’s going to have to work on what’s in her toolbox. They have your number, sis, but that’s the crown the queen wears. Welcome to it. Passing was a struggle, but I have no doubt halter will whip the back row communication into shape. Same with our secondary setting. We need to decide what balls the back row is taking and what balls we’re letting the setter run through on. Devin was a spark in set 4. Is it time to start the spark? Idk but if she’s not going to start, we need to plug her in much earlier. She can’t be a panic button, I’m sorry, she’s too good. This two handed push has got to stop before I lose any more hair. If I’m David, the man responsible, I would say listen, once in every 9 or 10 swings MAX. Not once per rally, please. I’m going to give swindle and Carlson both time to think about things. We need to pick one and stick with them, I fear. We don’t have the luxury of the big 12 to make that decision 4 sets into a match against Kansas, no offense. We’ve done the short setter thing before, so if we’re going averi, everi aspect of our defense has time to adjust. And by that I mean Akana needs to clock in for those line shots over averi.
