I completely disagree with a certain poster's proclamation that "volleyball is a very simple sport". But that's not what was said, was it? What was said was in comparison to basketball and football, the formations and patterns of volleyball are simple. But there you are, reading that however you decide to read it and then forming judgements from there.

I don't agree with him, but who needs an echo chamber? If you don't want to respond, no one is making you do so. A board like this can use people who are contrarians, are argumentative, and speak their mind. Keep up the good work, MplsGopher. I'm curious as to your thoughts on the Gopher's Sept 10th match. Do you still think Cook is committing coaching malpractice like you originally said?

We can talk about Stanford soon -- but I want to wait to see how they look in their opening match.
They still have Miner but lost a big chunk of their offense.

She is a solid player. Yeah, they're still Stanford. The new players aren't going to be slouches either. But they certainly look a lot different (and certainly less scary) without Kipp.

Kipp beat out Samedy for OPP and was also the best player on the team for the 2024 NORCECA Pan American Cup.

If the two of them can be interchangeable and KCook utilizes more subs, that lightens the mental load for both, same with the pins

How did Crowl play in the scrimmage? My biggest concern with Crowl is that she always seems to get tip happy and doesn't stay aggressive. If Mel is moving the ball around, I don't see how Grote doesn't get the start. But, I am also not in the practice gym. lol Since I live in Texas I am excited to watch them play at Baylor! Go Gophs!

I wasn’t at the scrimmage either! I’m not sure. I haven’t heard any negatives about her, but sounds like her serving was very good.
