Grow up. Edit: And don't put words in my mouth. I never said, and don't believe, she "sucks." I completely disagree. Your statement speaks for itself and sorry if my language antagonized you. Apology accepted.

I agree, there are players like Acevedo and Gilk who have potential to be solid enough starting pins at some point, but it’s best not to bank on that being for next year. And for that reason they need experience and talent coming in via the portal if Hanson establishes she wants a highly competitive team in order for her to stick around. I think Coach Cook owes it to Hanson to have an honest post season meeting with her and explain to her how he plans to make her final season (potentially a 1st/2nd team AA one) a winning one and how he plans to field a nationally competitive roster. Not sure how Keegan and KK feel, but imo an ideal offseason looks like this. -Starting Opposite via portal and Zeynep DSing for said Oppo. Her digging has proven it can be streaky and good at times. Her passing is erratic. -Starting middle in the portal and then have Taylor/Minatee/Engeman battle it out for the other spot -Starting libero via portal (unless Garr is that good) -Hanson at OH, Stella at setter, Acevedo at DS -Kinney as the other outside potentially I don’t find it likely that Crowl, Schnichels, or even Wucherer would have high usage roles on a team that is significantly improved over this year’s (and last year’s) squad. I feel you are just keeping it real. - Also, we have not been as successful recruiting highly talented players in the portal like other top tier programs. - Right now, who can seriously replace Awoleye and Grote and what they have brought to this team? - We thought our middle game was better this season..however, how many teams have beaten us with their middle game? I appreciate the message. That’s all I’m trying to do; be realistic. Nobody’s ever going to agree with everything you say and that’s life but this is a volleyball forum. I have no agenda and I’m certainly not rooting against anyone involved with the program. I especially think this year more than ever the Gophers have a group of really good people who know how to treat others well. But undeniably, the fact is that the program has kept going backwards for a period of about 5 years now. It’s a result of a lot of underperforming that can be split across many parties: players and coaches alike. This program has a ton of tradition, history, and expectation in a state that cares a lot about the sport and naturally many are wondering what it’s going to take if UMN will ever get back to that level. We’ll see how it shakes out the next year or two.

I’m trying to say this in a way that doesn’t sound demeaning because I don’t mean to give it that impression, but you won’t find many people (who don’t have a stake in the situation) who are very involved in the game of volleyball who would tell you that she has smooth dynamic hands or is capable of setting with any level of consistency when it comes to tempo and location. She does some things well, but setting is not one of them. With all due respect, you failed miserably at not sounding demeaning. I stopped assuming good faith when they said we have "a lot of pin hitters who would be good options at a school like Northern Illinois or Iowa." Wucherer saw the Huskies are 3-21 this year and figured it was time to drop an Instagram post.

http://instagram.com/p/DCZ9vx9xc7u Loved reading Wucherer’s post. It was very real to the mental state of any athlete. Let’s remember to be kind! They’re only college kids🙂 Kenny we love you 🥹 we just want you to be healthy and happy. I know for student athletes a lot of that is derived from success in your sport but it really goes beyond that. You’re not a machine 💛
