Given how often MN is OOS I think it is imperative that set tempo and location to the OHs give them better options than high hands through a wall When Wookie is back she is going to need sets in her 'kill zone' because there was all too much tippiness in the nonconference matches Given that middle quicks, slides, and high sets to the OPP often face only two hands or an ill formed block we should expect better H%s, but how much better I don't know. The most difficult part of the Gophers' regular season is in the rearview mirror. Nobody has embarrassed them, and the wins over Texas and Wisconsin prove this is a much better team than in 2023. Of the 16 remaining matches, it would not be surprising to see them go 12-4, with likely losses to Penn St, Oregon, Nebraska, and Wisconsin. The Oregon match is at the Pav, so I think optimistically they could go 13-3 over the rest of the schedule.

Finally got around to watching the weekly preview video.
1. Nice to hear from Z and Julia. Z is so fun and Julia was giving very competitive vibes which was cool. She knows she's a target for servers and more or less said bring it on. Hope the passing numbers show improvement this week 😅
2. Every single one of these videos has made me wonder why they take questions right next to a court where the team is obviously actively practicing. All the ball sounds are so noisy. I thought it was funny when Keegan paused to give the team a scolding look for being too noisy. It sounded just as loud as always to me lol but I guess it crossed a line for him. Petition for them to take questions literally anywhere else. Would be nice to be able to hear all the questions being asked. Which brings me to...
3. I would have been interested to hear what his response would be to being asked about not using a second timeout two sets in a row. They weren't shy about asking about passing troubles or the 5 set trend, which is good! I think it would have been a fair question and he could have answered honestly or in coachspeak or a mix.

I've posted these on the Gopher VB ticket group, but will put them here and in the match thread as well: I have 2 tickets to the Indiana match for sale + parking pass in C58. Tickets are in section 104 (center court), row 26, on the aisle. $50 OBO. DM me if interested.

bigten.org/wvb/stats/H%/set 11 kills/set 14 assists/set 17 oppH%/set 2 digs/set 1 blks/set 12 rcv% 17 aces/set 6
just a little room for improvement, eh?! PASS BETTER SET BETTER HIT BETTER based on MN defense it appears that block touches must be high if blocks aren't. leads to lots of digs and an excellent opponent H%
as vbgeezer noted WI Pur UCLA and USCs outperformance were a tough subset of opponents

I just seen some Instagram stories from the team and Wookie mentioned she is in a bowling class and bowls twice a week. I know I am not a Dr but I'm sure throwing a bowling ball around can't be good for your back lol - she has to be close to a return.

NCAA volleyball is currently on our campus highlighting our program and interviewing Keegan and some of our players too. Thanks for the heads up. My algorithm wasn’t algorithming. That’s some nice footage of the river and Dinkytown and the Minneapolis skyline (underrated skyline in the USA tbh). Very Minnesotan with the vibe. Good job NCAA social media. Michella & Co. made the Pav look gorgeous too. That’s my favorite sightline in the Pav with the windows in the background. Can’t wait to see the interviews in full! A long form video post later? Storing up footage to put in broadcasts during the tournament?

The serving really has been great! We have the lowest opponent passing rating on this list. 1.89! Keeping teams out of system has really helped us dig and get opportunities for swings in transition. A strength we have needed for compensating for bad passing. http://instagram.com/p/DA80RYrSPa2
