Nick and Tufono started following each other
Tufono basically played DS/Lib this season at UCLA, but she has a good serve

Would the Wahine want to pass on the #1 player in California because she is only 6 feet tall? I recall a similar conversation about Melanie Parra a year ago. I don’t see Arkansas grumbling about on pin hitter height with theirs standing 5’7, 5’10 and 5’11 Okay, I have to clear things up - I said that with a wink. Modern dayHawaii should never pass on the #1 player in California!

It was a travesty that a game of that level was in any round other than the final four. But you're right, it was incredible game! . Oh man, that was a heck of a game… and that team was one of my favorites with Kanani, Hewitt, Hartong, and the freshman Croson. I was there live and the power with which Croson hit was different. So heavy! My favorite shot from her was her no look line shot. She had that one wired!

I am wondering if the break up of the PAC 12 may be of a recruiting benefit to WWC and Big West schools, at least in these initial years of the realignment. Thoughts?

I'm sure there are girls who don't want to travel so far for conference matches. But how will that stack up against the allure of the new Power 4? We will see.

I don't see any of the new B1G schools winning. Stanford could win, but will be young in some positions. i think a winning program would be more of an issue than travel.

Tufono would be a good get for the Bows because she brings a jump serve into the mix

The moves were strictly about football but yeah, the USC and UCLA volleyball teams will be middle of the pack along with UW. Oregon will have a chance but they will definitely have to continue with the talent level because they will face the likes of Nebraska, Penn State and Wisconsin on a regular basis.

I am wondering if the break up of the PAC 12 may be of a recruiting benefit to WWC and Big West schools, at least in these initial years of the realignment. Thoughts? Think it's the opposite. Now you get to stay on the West Coast and play in the undisputed best vball conference in the country. It makes those schools more attractive. (Stanford is Stanford and people are always gonna want to go there even in the ACC)

Nick and Tufono started following each other Tufono basically played DS/Lib this season at UCLA, but she has a good serve We need backup/insurance in the back court. Definitely would take her. (And if she wants to compete for a hitting spot, no one would complain either)

I thought she left because she wants to set? UH is set at setter.
Tufono is also in the same class as Matias so I don't see flooding the roster with setters is a good thing.
Did Alfie take away her scholarship? I would have thought she would be someone who would stay there just for a UCLA degree but if Alfie didn't renew her scholarship, then maybe moving on makes sense.
If she wants to come home, I got no issue but awarding her a scholarship, I don't think so.

She's not a passer either and is actually a setter who was relegated to the serving specialist role.

Like, I don't feel comfortable saying "who doesn't deserve a scholarship" and thank You Lord that I don't get paid to make that decision. But I don't think Tufono shores up the pressing needs the Wahine have.
