I take it that most Hawaii fans are eager for the season to end (esp. Texas's) to see if Devin Kahahawai will enter the portal. If she does and RAM manages to grab her, dominoes will fall. It was already mentioned in one of the transfer threads that she's in the portal or she's notified the coaching staff that she's out and transferring. But I think she might end up in California. I searched her name in the 2024 Transfer Thread since I've got a feeling that you won't bother to look it up. Even though someone spelled her name wrong. volleytalk.proboards.com/thread/96778/college-volleyball-transfers-2024?q=DevonWhat makes you think a school in cali?

What makes you think a school in cali? Just a hunch. Hawaii doesn't have a scholarship available. Ahem, what makes you think Hawaii doesn't any scholarships or can make some available? Keep in mind that the 2024 recruits have not been officially announced by UH. Stella and Tali were announced November last year.

So you think Robyn will yank a scholarship from a SA before coming here? Like the Nebraska HC? That's rude asf.

I'm sure if Devin was interested in coming home to be a Bow, the coaching staff could find a way to get her some kind of funding. She's Hawaiian doesn't UH offer some kind of scholarship for being Hawaiian?

I mentioned this a couple pages back, but there are ways for Hawaii to open up athletic scholarships or other academic scholarships/NIL opportunities for current or new players.
I predict 95% of any transfer considering UH would likely be a walk on that will be helped to find those other opportunities for finances. I think the only way Hawaii really leans into their allotted athletic scholarship count is if a top-tier go-to player comes a knocking. But like I said, there are not current indications of any players currently looking into UH to transfer - much less one that would be considered a go-to.

I understand he needs to guard his connection and the ability to sleuth + the rumors that would surface with a hint or two might have caused some issues with the sharing of this knowledge. Bummer really. He's been dropping a lot of gems on the men's board.

I will say, it really helped Hawaii's chances for transfers and future recruits knowing Hawaii made it to the round of 32. Hawaii is one of only 32 teams - and even few non-Power 5 that is able to say that coming out of this past season.

True, but Matias and Alexander for the 2022 recruiting class weren’t announced till February of 2022

Do you wonder if they're holding out for some additions before announcing the expected recruits?

The kid is a really smart guy though so he might be someone that would secure an academic one even if he wasn’t a volleyball player.
