Slightly off-topic, but congrats to Kamehameha for upsetting Iolani last night for the State Championship! I’m happy to see Chock continuing to do well for Kamehameha, and it will be interesting to see where she ends up Last night it was another good set of State Championships. HBA won their first in 9 years with the help of, arguably, the most consistent outside hitters in Marisa Nakata. She is just a beast of a volleyball player. Iolani won 6 out of 7 meet ups that they had with Kamehameha before last night. One would think that Iolani would probably win the game. But Kamehameha showed up last night and won the most important match.

Usually Iolani shows up in a match (like no offense to Punahou but sometimes they just don't show up), I never seen Iolani play a match like that. They managed to take a set off of Kamehameha, but every other set it was all Kamehameha. Even with Kamehameha's young setter who was kinda making bad sets to the middle and bad locations to her outside, her hitters still managed to hit some really good balls that Iolani just couldn't pick up.

Exactly. Kamehameha is always going to be tough in a state final because the girls are STAPLES there. But none of the Iolani hitters managed their offense well last night. Granted they are young but I expect hitters of that caliber to hit the ball in.

Hawaii trending in the right direction of the RPI. If Hawaii can manage finishing the regular season 6-0, I wonder if they would be around 35. That might be a safe spot for an at-large...
