That's too bad. that's like a 4-6 month recovery time If that is the case, we either need to go after another MB or have Purcell Telefoni play MB her freshman year to make up for Maddie. There is no other player on the current roster that can make a move one to the middle. I doubt Adrianna will want to experiment with that to potentially see the court as a back up middle so Malinah is going to be the logical choice….despite some people not being too high on her as a D1 level player. I’m just asking! I really like the potential of Mili and Maddie, I’m good with letting Way,Sylvester and Bamis wet their young feet and gain early intensive playing time. worst come to worst.. Telefoni , Mane and Arquette could maybe be options if desperately needed. Curious why the talk of needing another MB or why only Bamis/Sylvester are mentioned for 24’ last few pages?

So wait .. is Maddie not healthy to play all of next season? Her injury is that bad? It may not be a matter of health. It is now a matter of being ready to contribute after being out, losing time to improve and being in shape. Sure, she could come in August and be out of her medical braces but her time being out prohibited her from working out and doing any meaningful training. She will definitely be behind….just like Kennedi Evans was when she tried to come back from her injury and was not that effective until last season.

Didn’t know she could be in braces that late. Definitely takes time to be play ready

Bamis looked more comfortable playing last night and had some really nice kills I think she will get the job done when it comes time in the fall. We shall see if she plays the same way tonight.

Middles jump the most. They move laterally the most, they are at the net the most. Injuries and wear and tear statistically are higher in the middle than OH or OPPO. Three healthy middles in playing condition is always a smart thing to have.

Only upper body exercises are allowed when you have an injured hip.

The Wahine played a lot better, they just needed a little warm up. Lovin their aggressive serves. Enjoy 🤙 Thanks for including a view of the scoreboard in the video. Makes it a lot easier to follow what's happening.

This is exactly the reason why I think we need a middle transfer. A grad transfer would be perfect.

I think one with multiple years would be fine with me….another Bamis type that would be OK with being #3 and then work from there. Graduate transfers are a big question mark for me. They are here just for a few month and then disappear as if they never did anything. I rather have one with multiple years so they can be impactful for more than just a few months.

I'm still not sold on Bamis. Yes, her slide looked pretty good last night but that's about it. In this situation a middle grad transfer would be perfect as it would allow Mili and Maddie to ease into D1 and be the middles moving forward after the grad transfer departs...

I can see your concern BUT….we only have one scholarship to give and if we offer it to a MB, it will be 4 MBs on the roster with little depth at OH. I would rather we use the scholarship for an impactful OH and maybe have Purcell Telefoni train as an emergency MB and take our chances with Bamis and Sylvester. Our OH depth is just too thin. We have 3 setters. A additional MB will make 4 MBs. Too much depth at positions where that much depth is not needed. Of course, Adrianna can work out at the pins to provide sone depth and Malinah could work out at both OPP and MB, maybe the problem will ease up.

I understand what you said and that makes some sense BUT we will be thinner in the middle. Our outsides next year we have Paula, Caylen, Stella, and Hakas. In a pinch we could insert Adriana or Purcell-Telefoni and even Mane in an extreme pinch. That makes 7 pin hitters. For middle next year we will have Bamis, Mili, and Maddie as our true middles. 3 middles - that's it. Bamis I'm not sold on and Maddie is coming off of a knee injury and will be behind and Mili has zero D1 college experience. We are WAY thinner next year at middle than pin hitters.

Yea…we kinda screwed up with 3 setters but I guess Robyn could work things out where one of the setters give up her scholarship in exchange for another form of financial agreement in order to find that much needed MB/OH.
