I'm curious why you wouldn't include Morgan Lewis for Oregon and Orzol/Ashburn for Wisconsin in the 'players to watch' section. Are they not impact players? Thanks for asking. They absolutely are impact players. I try to make sure my threads look good on both mobile and desktop, and that means I have limited space and can only fit 5 pics/names in a row. I pick the stats leaders - kills, blocks, digs, assists - but with a 6-2 thereβs not really a true assists leader so I usually just go with more hitters/blockers. I suppose I could swap out TTA with OrzoΕ but TTA has been on more of a hot streak lately and Iβm trying to subliminally encourage her.

Friday Links & Fun Facts bump! I'll update the stats link when StatBroadcast posts the actual link for the game - probably tomorrow. It was Round 1 of the tourney in 2015, not Round 2. WORST DRAW EVER and a terrible job by the Committee. Thanks, I knew it was the first weekend and I figured it had to have been the second round because that would be a ridiculous first round matchup. But so it was.

As much as I love Pukis and the 2023 Ducks I have to go with the Badgers in 4 here. Great and experienced team playing for a spot in the final four at home.
.....but I wouldn't mind a messy win in 5 by the Ducks!

One of the many doubles that didn't get called last night. :-) Many more for them it seemed than us but you are correct. About animated as Iβve seen Sheffield. Well those and in the replay where the psu girl was arguing about it hitting her hair and our girls were saying it hit her. That was good entertainment. For 2023 spring ball, the Double Contact interpretation was loosened for when the ball remained on the same side of the net. Did this interpretation continue into the Fall season?

Go Ducks! Wisconsin is a good team but I think the Ducks have a chance. Our offense is fast and weβve got a lot of offensive weapons, and we also have good blocking and defensive touches. And we have Hannah Pukis. π Playing in front of a (loud) Wisconsin home crowd will be tough, but Matt Ulmer has said theyβve specifically gone to play at tough environments and practiced crowd noise (think when they beat Pitt at home), so they arenβt going in completely unprepared. SCO ducks!

SCO ducks! the core of this Oregon team has been in tough environments before - the YUM center regional final last year was packed and rowdy and Oregon nearly took the home team out. Gonzalez has played at wisco multiple times and been in the elite 8 so nothing new for her, and mghee has played in a rowdy Gregory a few times as well. Oregons too experienced to let the crowd affect them imo

Honestly, not worried at home. did you say this last year too Everyone was constantly worried last year. Level of play really varied a lot and GG injury led to some instability in the backrow toward the back half of the B1G season.

(The next question would be "has either ever won there?" :-o That I'd have to look up.)

Oregon's quick offense presents a unique challenge, since they also combine that with a lot of firepower at the net. I hope the Badger serving is on point and can slow it down enough for the Badger block to be a big factor again.
