If you check volleyball recruiter, 2025 PSU recruit Marin Collins sits at the very top of their 5 ranked recruits, but not all ranking services are the same. For 2026, Finley K is also ranked at 5, and most other services have her around the #12 prospect in the country. Alexis Ewing ranks at a 4 at VB Recruiter..All are 6’4”. I would think one or two of them will develop into very viable pin hitters. Maybe all of them. To go along with CJ and Alexa Markley next year. Add in a transfer, we should be fine. I’m more worried about middles after next year.

...I’m more worried about middles after next year. From what little I've read about Gabrielle Nichols (2025), she could be a monster of a MB. Her coach, when she was a sophomore, said that teams had no way to stop her. She's a middle like Dana Rettke who started playing volleyball very late. So I think that her upside could be VERY high. Only 1 other MB in 2026 and she is a bit undersized at 6'1". I think you're right in saying that we need some middles. Possibly a transfer or two. Edit: Where the recruits are ranked at times has no bearing on reality. Babcock, a current sophomore on PITT, was ranked as 43rt by one service and 27th by another. And she played much higher than that last year. So one really can't be sure how good someone is until they hit the college scene. And this is even with all of the club/tournaments that HS volleyball players play nowadays. So we can start getting a handle on how good Katie and staff's judgement of players is compared to the ranking services. It's an art, not a science. I remember looking back at the top ranked recruiting classes around 2010, 2011, 2012. There were 3 schools that had great recruiting classes and NONE of the recruiting classes panned out according to how good they were predicted to be. This is why I was reserving judgement on Izzy and Ava cuz you just really don't know how good someone will be. Fortunately, they both look like the real deal.

With her height, jumping ability and ability to hit the ball hard she will be in the mix next year as well.

I think a successful season this year (final four) could work wonders for recruiting within the coming years. I love the 2025 and 2026 classes that KSC is forming but I think the opportunity to play with CJ Izzy and Ava could be huge selling point for hitters Are not most of the big hitters in 2025 and 2026 off the board already, though? Even though I prefer to see home grown talent, I was thinking KSC could pickup a good pin transfer next season, but I don't know PSU's scholarship situation. AFTER 2026 Because most top players have already committed

I love Russ and would never intend to say anything to disrespect him, but I have to think having Katie as Coach is rejuvinating the team. I love and respect this team. It's possible, in my mind, that being recruited or coached by a young, energetic, female coach, who played on a championship team might, for some, be more motivating.

I love Rose, but it was clear he had lost his fire the last couple years he was in charge. It seemed to me that he was ready for retirement. I can't blame him, after 43 years. KSC is putting in the work.

That’s some adversity tonight. You need games like that to make you mentally stronger. I know all psu fans would rather have a relaxed sweep but you need to have some matches like this in a season to make you stronger

A quote from RR as to some of the reasons he decided to retire: Speaking of his decision to retire, Coach Russ Rose stated that two of his biggest problems had gotten to be overly involved parents and whiny players.

Please just let us beat Pitt... They did split their preseason matches. I like our chances, if Jurevicious is playing up to par.
