I was watching Charitie Luper's recent interview with FSM and she said her dad was a football coach. Is her dad Curtis Luper from Missouri? If so that's pretty cool

http://instagram.com/p/DBMFgQlOrY6 DeBeer amongst the top 5 OH’s last week for serve receive. Whatever adjustment she’s been making has been working so well. I’d LOVE to see a side-by-side comparison of her passing numbers from the first few matches to now. Maybe if I have some extra time this week I’ll do some digging.

I dont remember which thread it was but there was a graph of all of the passing OHs and she was the lowest one behind Skinner, now she should be way up there

I’m not sure what the coaches have been cooking up in the gym these past few weeks, but everyone has seriously stepped up their game — PK, DeBeer, Charitie, and Nayelis, Even Elle to some extent put up some good balls against Miami.
That Nebraska match must've sparked something, and it was definitely for the better.
Just need Mother Scott to get back on her passing game, I know they'd hate to see the Cards coming!

Specifically the setters, both have made noticeable improvement from the start of the season. Glock has been very consistent so far in acc play, her transition setting has improved a ton. Cabello is getting more consistent and has found a really good pace out to debeer on the pin. Her floor defense is fantastic too I think a couple things have to happen if they want to go to the final four this year. Setters need to continue improving, Luper and debeer need to start consistently pass at 2.1 or better, and they have to find a way to get a little more offensive production from Cresse

Something I hadn't noticed until a couple of weeks ago.
In the lineup intro video, near the beginning, some of the players are walking in the entrance of The Palace Theater downtown. As they walk by, the camera pans up to the marquis.
On the marquis is "Louisville vs ...." filled in (computer edited, of course) whoever we're playing that match. It's updated every match.
Kind of a cool little touch.

And Debo and Charitie their passing seems to be improving a lot as well Cresse like i’ve been saying is not as offensive as she used to be, she used to lead the division in hit percentage at some point. Now she’s one of the top blockers in the country now. I just would love her to balance both. I don’t know if it’s a setting problem or just lack of efficiency on her part because PK and Sherman seem to be set fine and have aggressive offense

Committee has the Cards at #4 right now.
Seems like the biggest factors were having the #1 strength of schedule, being #1 in RPI right now, and the head-to-head sweep over Stanford. If we had beaten Penn State I think Louisville would’ve had that #3 slot.
We will be at home for the entire tournament if we keep things going. I like the current regional draw we have (2. Stanford, 3. Purdue, 4. Utah).
If we can go 2-1 in our upcoming matches against Pitt (x2) and Stanford I think the Top 4 is a lock. If we lose both to Pitt but beat Stanford again I think we should be okay? Unsure. Definitely gets dicier if we lose all three of those matches.
Penn State or Stanford taking a surprise upset loss would help too.

]If we had beaten Penn State I think Louisville would’ve had that #3 slot.. If that had happened and our only loss was Nebraska, I think that would’ve put Louisville at 2. They would have had the same record as Pitt but a better loss and better wins.

Okay Cardnation, what does this team have to do or improve on in order to not be destroyed this week 😂 I don’t see smu destroying Louisville unless there’s a major passing breakdown. Should be a really competitive match. Serve and pass will be what it comes down to between those two imo Realistically, Pitt has to have an off day for Louisville to win lol. They are better than us at pretty much everything. Need one of Babcock / stafford to have bad day and have to stay in system as much as possible, Pitts block and defense is too good for Louisville to be effective without holding their blockers a little bit

Need one of Babcock / stafford to have bad day and have to stay in system as much as possible, Pitts block and defense is too good for Louisville to be effective without holding their blockers a little bit ^ this. I think the team will be watching the SMU-Pitt film VERY closely. SMU can win through serve-and-pass, so the key is to stay in system and run a balanced offense as much as possible. Side out ASAP when Foster is behind the line. We want this match to be as quick as possible so we can give Pitt our all, so come out strong and win like we’re supposed to - prove we belong amongst the top teams. Pitt looks like the better team all around, and I agree we’re in trouble unless we can capitalize on one of their stars having a bad day. Luckily for us, these teams have a lot of history and there’s a chance emotions will be running very high. Last year’s matches were SPICY. And luckily both teams are mostly the same lineups, so the scouting report is there already. We gotta swing high on the blocks of VVG and Fairbanks, hope that Babcock’s incredible serve is off, and our block/floor D needs to be ready for Stafford. Frustrate them by keeping the ball up and we might have a shot. My guess right now is a 3-1 win against SMU (we drop either Set 1 or Set 3) and a 1-3 or 2-3 loss to Pitt. EDIT: I had the schedule swapped. I thought it was SMU then Pitt. It’s Pitt first, then SMU.
