You keep posting and don’t let these bullies shut you up. Women in sports are worth fighting for.

Take your hateful and disgusting rhetoric and elsewhere. This board is about volleyball and is no place for you to post articles from an openly transphobic news source openly slamming a teenage girl. People like you are a pitiful example of supporting women sports. I guess maybe you people will get it when does it start to be broken and serious injuries occur. But yet you people are supposed to care about women? Is that a joke? LOL you’re concerned about serious injuries? You should start demanding that NCAA women’s teams stop using male practice players, then. I personally love tuning into the Brazilian league just so I can watch Tifanny physically injure and destroy her opponents. (Just kidding, that literally doesn’t happen.) But man if this commit makes a bunch of you so upset that you stop watching the sport, we could only be so lucky.

I’m glad we finally agree. And I’m glad you brought it up.

I think getting hysterical and bullying people is shameful. It needs to be talked about, especially if you respect women and their sports programs. Of course anyone with a brain would know that this will eventually ruin women’s sports but you people are so self involved in your progressive ideals you can’t possibly see that. You’re not capable.

Oh god. Riley Gaines found her way to VolleyTalk. Oh my God, an athlete that actually wants her sports to maintain its integrity. How awful of her. That would make you a misogynist.

You want to protect women's sports? Get rid of the sex offender coaches and stop making excuses for them. Give women adequate, if not equal funding. Make facilities equal. Give women the same opportunities as their male counterparts. Don't treat them like second class citizens. The absolutely minuscule number of transgender athletes that MIGHT someday be good enough to compete at that level isn't any danger to the women currently playing.
Youth sports, USAV, NCAA, and the IOC have allowed it for a long time and have had standards in place for participation long before the backlash became the cause du jour for a very gross subset of humanity. I am perfectly fine with transgender athletes participating and am glad they have something that helps them feel included and confident, given the immense societal backlash to their existence as human beings. So much of the backlash is rooted in misogyny. While many men claim to value women, they still see them as so inferior to male ability, that transgender women playing women's sports throws them into a tizzy and they claim it's because they are "protecting women".
There are several transgender athletes currently playing college sports. And you know why you don't know about it? Because it's none of your freaking business.

I don’t think the NCAA will figure it out. It will be figured out in the courts no matter what direction the NCAA goes in. One side or the other will sue. Probably both sides. We’re also a long ways from figuring out a civil way of having this conversation, never mind how we want to handle it as a society. That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try, or there won’t be some kind of resolution. But I don’t think it will be in my lifetime. You can’t figure out something as polarizing as this. It’s polarizing because the right wing politicians have found an issue that effects a very very small amount of people and whipped up their far right base and has blown it up as a huge wedge issue because that’s what politicians are good at doing. So trying to have a civilized conversation about it has become difficult because a lot of people have already chosen “sides”. All that being said I have coached hs girls for almost 20 years and have a daughter and a son and it’s an issue I personally struggle with how it should be properly handled in the best interest of all involved. It’s never an issue I've personally had to deal with that has involved varsity athletes. That’s not to say I haven’t been thru this with kids, just not at the varsity level. The thought that prevails to me a lot after seeing it a bit more close up is that no one would go thru all the heartache and controversy and negative attention that’s involved with these issues just to get attention. They are very convicted in their beliefs of who they are and how they identify and I choose to believe them. How that translates to sports, specifically girls sports, is a whole other issue and conversation.
