TIL cis women don't take hormones! All those muscled men in the gym who take testosterone to grow their muscles must be trans. I mean they are using gender affirming care right? This wins for the stupidist post I've seen on here this month.

What points? That just because trans women take hormones they should be equals to biological women? 🙄 Really what it equates to is that non XX chromosome females believe that they are equal to and should have the same treatment when it comes to athletic sports as xx chromosome biologically born females. Never mind that, more and more across some womens sports, transgender athletes are starting to dominate when it comes to winning the achievement aspect of said sports. The lgbtqia+ community brazenly have dismissed the circumstances of the affected athletes impacted by trans athletes and have in almost every case personally attacked those holding different views then they have in forums like these. All three of your sentences have attempted to simplify YOUR view of the issue by using false generalizations from the other perspective.

I think the intentional language you are using here shows that this is not just an issue about trans people in sports but rather the existence of trans people in general. Hmmm. I acknowledge that they exist yes. They have free access to basic necessities yes. But this is a case wherein they want to take advantage of their physical abilities to be successful with something they could not attain otherwise if they have to follow the conventional route. Free access to basic necessities? Lol what. My point is, within this overarching conversation about sports is an even more important conversation being had about respect of trans people. When we start talking about validity of pronouns, mental health, and the lived experiences of trans people, this is not just an issue about inclusion in sports.

But really the idea is, it is hormones that can be regulated naturally to increase, maintain, or decrease physicality for anyone, despite their chromosome make up. That is why all of the policies refer to hormone level and not chromosomes.

I think this is an assumption that has no basis in fact. I'm not sure why you would claim this. Sure, there are aholes in every demographic, but there is little indication at all that there is some deliberate effort among trans people as a whole group to "take advantage of their physical abilities." I mean, why would you completely upend your life just for a sport? That makes no sense. I feel like people do not understand how difficult the transition process is.

Yes, have they been denied food, water, shelter, transportation, etc?? They have access to all needs for them to have a decent life. They have access to healthcare, marriage, etc. Is that NOT enough?

If bigots don't want to be labelled bigots, maybe they should actually respond to points instead of relying on backwards and hateful prejudices, and misinformation. When y'all double down on your views, you deserve every name in the book. Stop being snowflakes because y'all can't make valid points.
Btw, completely shocked this is your stance based on your expert handling of sex, gender, and pronouns in the past lol. Where did that signature go?
Nothing about my stance is demeaning, harrassing or the like. The signature I used to have was regarding my desire to want terms to describe us collectively that are not demeaning. Judging by your latest reply to me you are ALL for it. The point of that signature was to throw shade back at whichever community was taking liberties with the thoughtless manner in which they were treating fellow forum posters. You thinking it is demeaning to be called a term associated with women...

I don't know how we got here... but your understanding of the lived experience of many trans people is very off. To be quite frank, even if trans people did have consistent access to everything you mentioned (which they don't...), basic needs being fulfilled is NOT enough.

Again, sex is not as simple as XX or XY and there have been many cases that highlight that. For those who believe there are only two biological sexes and/or genders, where would an intersex athlete like Caster Semenya fit in?

I mean, why would you completely upend your life just for a sport? That makes no sense. I feel like people do not understand how difficult the transition process is. What can you say about that trans swimmer who won titles in women’s division? We've been through this already. As a male underclassman was highly ranked at multiple distances. Improved freshman to sophomore year. Subsequently went through hormone therapy during transitions, and fell in massively rankings. Transitioned to female class and won 1 title, broke no records in doing so, and otherwise ranked similarly in events as she did competing as a man. If anything, it just seems like the competition was weak that year. That is the one cherry picked case to indicate an advantage, and there really isn't a compelling case for one. Are trans athletes only allowed to compete if they fail? That can't be a requirement. And the idea that they went through all that primarily to get a competitive advantage, losing a whole year of competition and given how much social flak is involved is just not credible. Real people don't think like that.
