Just a question: Why do we care about how incoming recruits are ranked as high school juniors & seniors? It's a ranking of their current ability/talent in a pool of high school players and doesn't assess potential among a pool of college players or how they will improve and adapt to a more physical, faster game. Sarah Franklin was #29 by Prepvb and remember Lexi Sun? Just 2 examples of how high school rankings may not be the best metric. It's hard to wait though until we see them in the red white scrimmage and tantalizing to speculate! We care because the individuals who populate VolleyTalk need to be fed something, lest they spend the offseason out in the wild attempting to interact with society. |

orrr does anyone have the capability & drive to make one? I know I don’t really & would rather just watch one, so I understand if not😁😁😁
so bored in the off season, honestly could use all the players highlight videos lol

I posted this last year around this time and now curious after another season how it’s maybe changed, but what would people put as their all time best starting lineup for Wisconsin? Obviously Franklin earned a spot this year. Did booth/Smrek/ anyone else earn a spot in your mind? Rules are it is everyone’s college peak (whatever year they were the best). I think my team will be quite recent as I’ve only been a fan a few years:
S: Carlini (backup Hilley)
OH: Franklin and haggerty (ds civita)
RS: Smrek and demps as DS like I’m 2021
MB: Rettke and booth
L: Barnes

Sherisa Livingston and Rettke are my middles. Booth may pass Sherisa, but certainly not yet. For left sides, I'm partial to Erin Byrd being mentioned due to her great passing and defense, and capable offense as an upperclassman, but I have no argument with Franklin and Haggerty. A lot of good setters through the years, but Carlini/Hilley have to be the 1/2.

A lot of good setters through the years, but Carlini/Hilley have to be the 1/2. Agreed about the middles. Still think 2013 Ellen Chapman is underrated. Have a hard time picking between her and Haggerty. Has the badger 25-point rally scoring record in kills, points and attacks over a season. Fifth behind Rettke (1-4) in points points/set. Tied with Franklin (3.51) and just barely behind Haggerty (3.54) in kills per set. Served a lot better than Haggerty ever did, but was not involved on BR D as much. Similar HP and blocking numbers. Courtney Thomas was very good at RS in 2014. She served, passed, set OOS and hit almost 0.340 that year if I remember right, but Claudia Rodriguez at her peak before the injury in 2000 was massive and a real difference maker. (Still crying about bad injury luck in 2000!). There have been some very good liberos through the years. It's really hard to rank them. Morey 2014, Hickey 2013, Jocelyn Wack at any point. |

y’all would like an outside or libero right? Sofia Maldonado Diaz is in the portal, not sure if y’all remember, but she went 13-1-26 (.462), with 4 blocks and 6 digs in a sweep loss against y’all!
