I could easily see a world where CC starts in the middle over Devyn if Booth (or CC I guess) are comfortable running slides (which I haven’t personally seen much so idk). CC has got to be a lot better MIDDLE blocker (not even to Devyn’s fault) and if she was M2, then she’d be with Smrek two rotations and Sarah for two (basically there would be one rotation with Orzol/CC/Smrek, then Sarah/CC/Smrek, then Sarah/CC/Charlie. the last one would be the only half concern and you still have NPOY to bail you out and I’m sure CC can run a slide for one rotation) CC can hit a slide... Look at this beauty from Charlie (near the end of the video) (or at least it's a beautiful RS hit!) www.instagram.com/reel/C-6nDHnOZEE/

Both Louisville and Wisconsin have a lot to figure out with their Lineups tommorow, since they are both high caliber teams they will use their best players. Which starting lineup do you think they should go with tommorow night Assuming everyone is ready to go OH: Sarah Franklin OH: Julia Orzol MB: Carter Booth MB: Devyn Robinson OPP: Anna Smrek S: Charlie Fuerbrigner L: Saige Damrow DS: GG for Smrek Serving Sub: Lola/Carly for Devyn & Saige serve for Carter 5-1 I also think TSC could get some playing time tomorrow Anna good to go. Julia possibly but don't think so. Better safe than sorry.

In the video Wisconsin Volleyball just posted, Orzol was practicing No jumping though (not for anyone in that clip, to be fair). I see Julia needing some help from GG to get off the plane hmmmm

Wild speculation, more of a bone stress reaction injury than a plain ankle sprain? (I double-checked my memory; the couple matches she missed early in non-conference her freshman year was - per Punzel's book - because of a "stress fracture".)

I think Sheffield commented that she struggled with that the whole year. I hope it hasn’t been reinjured. They worked hard to change her landing technique to reduce stress.

The latest article by Punzel (https://badgerextra.com/sports/volleyball/wisconsin-volleyball-louisville-preview-know/article_dc558f58-6404-11ef-b247-87ab02f69add.html):
"Smrek, who missed last week’s exhibition match against Bradley with an ankle injury, is expected to play. Orzol also sat out the Bradley match with an ankle injury and her status is uncertain, although she has been able to practice in recent days."
So, wait and see on Oz.

She struggled with shin issues both of her first 2 years. I believe she had stress fractures in one of not both legs after the championship her freshman year. Some people are just more susceptible to it than others because of mechanics or things like compartment syndrome. Hopefully she’s good to go soon. We need her on the floor as much as possible for her leadership as much as anything. Wouldn’t be shocked to see her back at libero if they think this will be a season long struggle.

May Sheff win spin the dial games so we have Anna on Anna (DeBeer) blocking more often than not.

BOLD TAKE: If Wisconsin can go undefeated over the next week, they will be 18-0 going into the match with Purdue in Mackey arena. But, I believe their chances to go undefeated over the next week are about 25%.

Smrek bowled me out for a duck and scored another quadruple century.

Serafinowska may have grown to 6’5”; she looks taller than 6’4” Franklin. My heights of the Badgers S, OH, MB and RS/OPPs in cms aka metric imo. This is from what I've observed at least. Not sure about the DS and Ls though hence why I'm not putting them here. Not sure about Una's potential true height though. - Carly 175 cms (5'9") - Charlie 179 cms (5'10") - Morgan 180 cms (5'11") - TSC 180 cms (5'11") - Julia 184 cms (6'0") - CC: 188 cms (6'2") - Devyn: 191 cms (6'3") - Sarah 194 cms (6'4") - Tosia 195 cms (6'5") - Carter 201 cms (6'7") - Anna 208 cms (6'10") I do believe that she's 6'10"

Izzy Ashburn admitted to being more 5'10" than 5'11" in an interview on OutofSystem recently. Also, I always thought Anna was significantly taller than Dana Rettke who is listed as 203cM on Vero Volleys roster

But she def looks at least 3 inches taller than Booth.

Anyone else want Orzol to stay at L? I know we have nonexistent OH depth, but I think she really blows the other libero candidates out of the water. I wasn't at the Bradley match, so I guess it'll depend on how legit TSC is and if any of the new DSes can surprise me. But I think the position switch last season was such a good move for Orzol and I wanted this season to watch her blossom into a truly elite L
