In a parallel world where I was coaching, Booth, Damrow and TSC would be sitting next week.

Should we be worried that Carter will enter the transfer portal after season? With this huge senior class graduating, and more youngsters joining it will be a major rebuild. Leaving just her GG and Saige as the “upperclassmen” Yup— can't see Booth sticking around. Why do this right now?

In terms of serving, passing and defense, The Badgers are nowhere near the elite teams they lost to. That doesn't look like it's going to change any time soon. It wasn't even serving today to be honest, we had 11 SEs and 7 aces; they had 18 SEs and 10 aces. That's pretty similar. It's literally the passing + the defense.

I don’t quite think the sky is falling, but they’ve got a ton of things to shore up and they HAVE to get healthy. The grit and fight we’ve been accustomed to is not there yet and I hope the seniors are trying to instill that

Wisconsin losing confidence after this weekend, they seemed to stop trying. I think they tried but just were outplayed especially on defense and serving. Stanford wouldn't let them back in and the Badgers just made too many errors. . Stanford is a very good team: you could have won set 1. Did win set 2! Could have won set 3. Tired but fighting in set 4! You start 2 freshman, and your best VB player only on court 3 rotations; and she has to DS because they may need. Her to be OH : but she is your best libero! You have all the tools! Just need time! AND why do so many fans equate “losing” to “not trying”?

Brittany has her worked cut out for her with the littles. We have youth, and energy on our side BUT after reading Sheff’s comments about some of the players not putting in that extra effort is unfortunate. You’d think they would be begging each other to go to the gym to get some reps.

There are definitely positive signs from this match compared to yesterday. Wisconsin will be okay, will be in the top 3/4 of the B1G, and can still host the first two rounds. It’s just going to be a game of patience for us fans.

Less is more should be the focus. Wisconsin should play simple ball.
When Orzol is fully back, everything will be much better.
Booth had too many chances and not even hitting better than CC??? I'm sick of watching her unnecessary throws.
Charlie is so good at setting gap/shoot sets to middle. Her sets to LS is very stable. Her problem was trying to do too much and connection with Smrek on RS.
Solution would be putting Smrek in middle, and keep running gap/shoot sets to Smrek&CC and utilizing Robinson as RS.
2-libero system looks fine to me. College ball is also turning out like international ball. Serving is improved a lot and some reception errors are okay. Even Orzol&Rubin had a diffucult time. I watched GG a lot before college and I don't think she can handle this serve pressure.

Would love to see the mental toughness and cohesion grow, and they will, but let’s see how things develop as injuries heal and the team settles into school starting plus a regular practice schedule.

Yeah, so SOMETHING has to be done about the back court. The only reason to not have GG as libero is if you have a better passer, but Damrow’s numbers aren’t cracking 2 if my math is correct. Saige had only 3 digs tonight. Schumacher has the best passing stats so far and has just 3 fewer digs than GG on all 3 games, but had some spotty moments in SR including a particularly bad Stanford ace where neither she nor Damrow called it. There needs to be SOME consistency somewhere, especially with the question at OH. But Sheffield doesn’t look like he’s looking to play Schumacher at bro so I can’t tell. Just ugh all the way around. Yeah. Damrow is not pulling it at L yet. She struggled passing, her D was only OK, and her OOS setting does not compare to GG. We look more coherent as a team with GG in there. But we haven’t seen her passing, so maybe that would change. It looked like we were passing with 4 at one point, which is a pretty terrible idea in my opinion. I’ll have to say that Charlie looks uncomfortable at crunch time and her sets go off. I did not see that from her before coming to UW. My guess is that this has to do with her catching up with the offense a bit. Especially in the transition game it’s much faster.

I have a lot of thoughts. I see improvements, but is really hard to know what they mean with players coming in and out of the line up. Other than the losses this team is a mystery.
