I have a lot of thoughts. I see improvements, but is really hard to know what they mean with players coming in and out of the line up. Other than the losses this team is a mystery.

At this point, I think we should just give GG the L jersey full time and use Saige and Lola as DSes. You can put Chan in the L2 jersey in case GG has major struggles on SR to give the opposing team a different look.
I also wonder which of the littles isn't getting into the gym, etc. that Sheff is referring to (and it's obv not GG).

Orzol at Lib solves SR issues.
Shrek on the bench (maybe as a sub third MB or let her play against NWestern)... Chemistry is better with her off the court
TSC will get better daily -- she'll be a force late Oct.
Charlie will only get comfortable and better.
Our go to is Robinson.... please run isolation X plays for her~. Come on Sheffield, I mean you're a brilliant volleyball mind, right?
Sarah needs to learn how to tool the block, no more out of bounce soft roll shots..... giving me Loberg vibes.
CC will thrive when she sees her positiion is not in question and she can run quick flat slides.
BOOth *and yes BOO so far! Booth needs to improve and Step the Fk Up! A capable Carter is a scary Wisconsin. Carter stepping up is the difference between ending first week of Dec or a few days before Chirstmas.

I'll call out Lola her, as I caught her Instagram stories this morning, posted after the match or this morning: - a post about HER stats in the game - an NIL post linking to some shirts being sold by players on the team, including hers. I'm not sure what to think about where her head is at after a loss, making a post like that. IMHO that doesn't seem very team oriented, and I didn't see anyone else making that kind of post about themselves. Not long after the match, she reposted someone’s story, putting a heart around her name on the starting lineup graphic as the L. Making a post like that seems questionable, but… it seems even worse after not actually getting the start as the L.

The blocking problems were more on the left pin, where Smrek wasn’t blocking. Once Carlson came in to set, Rutherford started going off. She hit several cross court shots yet the Badger Block wasn’t cutting off the angle at all. I don’t think this will happen but until Julia is fully healed and jumping, can Devyn play left? It gives us another strong arm up front and DRob can help with blocking strong opposites like Rutherford. CC could slide into middle where she always brings intensity and fight which I think could help on the floor. Again Devyn hasn’t trained there so I’m guessing no but I was actually pleasantly surprised with her floor defense on a few plays where she was in serving. I thought this was Devyn’s best back row day as a Badger. Small sample size, natch, but in a week in which bright spots are few and far between, I’ll take it.

I don’t follow a ton of people/pages on IG, so it’s not hard to have something like that come up to the top of the feed or be one of the first reels/stories that pops up. I only started following the new freshman last week, so I’m sure they’re pushed up in the feed priority.

I think Devyn and Charlie's chemistry is decent. Smrek must be struggling and is not at 100% so she needs rest especially that she's out of form. She may improve later but will no longer be the main OPP if her blocking regresses.

On the bright side, at least all of our losses are Top 10 losses. Texas can’t say that anymore! 😃

This team is going to be a okay. We’d be 3-0 with most year’s non conference schedules, and able to work through communication issues and injuries while still getting wins and building confidence.
The crowd at Fiserv was terrible today. Only standing up when we have set point? Come on, when we come back to tie a set 21-21, you need to stay standing and loud the rest of the set. If we played Stanford and Louisville in the field house, I think we’d be 2-1 even with our struggles.
CC brings the confidence and mojo. She needs to stay on the court. When Anna comes back strong, based on current play, I think Booth is the one she replaces and it becomes a question of which positions Anna and Devyn play. But it’s good that we have 4 to compete for 3 positions throughout the season.
On the other hand, I think we’re a second outside from being a complete team. If Una was healthy and Orzol could stay at libero, I’d be very confident in predicting us playing the final weekend in December again. Right now, I wouldn’t be confident predicting that, but expect I will be confident in that again later in the season.

The speed at which some of y'all have given up on an injured 2nd team AA is fascinating

I think too many players are playing. No one can get in a rhythm
