Can’t be mad at this loss. Truth is, Neb is just a better and more complete team right now. It’s nice to be brought back down to earth after this win streak. You can only hope the ladies have some good takeaways and god willing we take a set in Lincoln.

on the bright side, next year we will have a whole new court of starters with no bad habits (yet) that we won’t be tired of! Thinking about next year kind of scares me especially with Booth regressing compared to last season. Breaking in a bunch of new players will be fun, but if there aren't a couple high level transfers being added it could be a developmental type season. Next year looking at our team will be so so different. Our returning players will be so young still & for sure going to have to break in 4 newbies. No matter if those 4 are all freshman, all transfers, or a mix of the two we are going to essentially see a whole new team Minus Carter who will be in her senior season, but we saw the struggles |

This is why I quit drinking in anticipation of a big match. When The Russian River Valley Zin wears off and we're staring at a BIG L in a BIG MATCH, it makes for a bleak rest of the night.
Fortunately, there are other things going on that put a volleyball match in perspective. Still, losing to Nebraska pisses me off.

Remember when everyone was like omg shuffling middles and not sticking to any of them, So InNoVaTiVe, and now we have literally 0 high-level middles production lmao? Pepperidge Farm remembers. And Charlie looks like she either won't or can't set them during some stretch too? And now teams are just camping out on the pins?
PS: Booth is hitting lower than CC by the way. I'm not sure there is another middle on a top team in the country hitting .260 LOL. But she keeps starting. Where's that famed shuffling?

This team are likely flat track bullies, good enough to beat lower, mid to upper mid ranged teams but not good enough to beat top teams. I have no idea what happened with Smrek, is Nebraska's block too big for her or is she unable to hit over the block because if Smrek is in great form, she'll be able to hit over any block. Was the passing not good enough and was Charlie having an off day with her sets?

(I posted this just now on the game thread, but it certainly bears repeating here)
The thing that stood out to me sitting courtside was how well Nebraska served, across the board.
Low, flat, lots of pace, no spin, and so a good amount of movement.
In the two-plus years I've had that seat, I don't recall anyone else serving that well.

I do feel that we need Devyn to be our offensive middle & CC to block tf out of whatever touches her hands as the 2nd middle, but don’t we risk Booth hitting the portal or don’t we care?  |

I know it's a long-shot, but I hope Kelly doesn't trot out a couple of players and lay the usual platitudes out there. The Badgers, for whatever reason, failed their midterm exam. There's really nothing to say. They'll either beat Penn State and build on it, or fade away. |
