You know things were bad when Julia is mad. Punzel: “It’s just bad because we didn’t put up a fight,” said senior captain Julia Orzol. “It wasn’t a loss with fighting spirit, competing to the best of our abilities. A lot of things were not clicking and we did not put in enough effort to figure it out early enough.”
“Each set we were able to come back but we need to toughen up to stay in those endings in the red zone and not panic,” Orzol said. “I feel like that’s happening a lot. It needs to happen individually, but also bringing people around with you. That’s a super important thing that we need to be better at.
“There were just too many errors that just got in our way of gaining any momentum. Being able to find a way of jumping on them instead of being dominated. It hurts. If you go down after playing good, quality volleyball, it (stinks) but you can live with that.”No naming of names but it isn't hard to figure out who is struggling out there. Be careful Julia, you led the team in errors. Maybe she was talking about herself? She's talking about the whole team dynamic out there. She's not talking about one person.

We quite regularly decry the NCAA because they won't or can't implement the international video review systems, and leave us with TV and the often blurry and misleading camera shots they provide, where it's hard to see much of anything. Yet what you guys offer up here is exactly those blurry shots, when I point you to this video below?!? Why would she argue with her dad? Because she didn't touch the ball. https://www.tiktok.com/@dana_rettke/video/7043970220599528751
the tiktok clip doesn't zoom in, that's why. Dana didn't touch it. Dana is vehement that she didn't touch it. Dildine confirmed the teams camera person had an angle from behind the play that showed the ball was clear over by an inch or two. It just wasn't the view the refs had. I can't believe we're still talking about this. It didn't matter in the end - except to emphasize we need better cameras.

My response was to the poster who stated "but it isn't hard to figure out who is struggling out there" Besides when a players brings the concern up of playing 'nervous' or not together. I don't think the player that led the team in errors should be pointing out faults, lol.

Passing stats from avid. Again, not a huge difference, although GP numbers are low for badgers. Suggest a lot of very good passes intermixed with some terrible ones.
Nebraska: 2.18/56.9% GP
Murray: 2.1/52.4% (21) Mauch: 1.96/58.3% (12) Lexi: 2.50/60% (10) Choboy: 2.25/66.7% (6)
Wisconsin: 2.15/46.4%
Damrow: 2.17/46.2% (39) Orzol: 2.27/53.3% (15) Franklin: 2.12/46.2% (12)

Man, I miss Orzol at Libero; I'm convinced that a solid OH, even someone like Acevedo, would have made a world of difference - This team may go down as the best team not to win it all because of being one OH short.

I don't think Orzol at OH is the problem. She's hitting 0.250 for the year. That probably puts her season at top 10 of UW OHs historically (a position UW has underperformed at generally). Acevedo is hitting 0.123.

Sarah's roll shots kill me! Especially the middle of the court, high, and right to the opponent. I understand sets could be off, the block is set correctly in front of her, mixing it up etc. ... I don't understand not hitting down the line, at 50% speed, over the setters/ds head... spread the court, she is so predictable. And if she's not scoring, Wisconsin, is not likely winning. I didn't understand why there were no 3-1 balls to Smrek, just straight-up 1's, which caused her many attack errors. Anna and the 3-1 have been kryptonite to Nebraska's block. I wondered about Sarah not taking the (very open) line shot as well. :/ Texas did the same thing last year....Took away the deep zone 5 shot and Sarah's cut shot and left line WIDE open. Sarah missed line twice and then proceeded to just try to cut harder and harder into the block. And it's hard to tool the block when the blocker is Asija O'Neal. I feel like line might be her weakest shot and she might not have the confidence to pull it out when we're struggling.

I'm thinkig of Katheryn Plummer in this instance.

Yeah. Robinson has a history of this but she managed through it last night. Damrow and Anderson really need to better manage. And Anna...🤷♂️ I'm prettttty sure this was referring to Charlie. :/ Charlie struggled a bit bit I don't think it's pressure related honestly. Anna. Saige. 😬😬
